Trying to Fit Yoga in For Sun Dec 31

Cathlete
Morning Yoga Ladies -

I ended up doing 30 minutes of Champion Rebounding Supersets and Drills (with warm up included) and then I did 60 minutes of Rebecca Small Symmetrical Step off of the Stomp DVD with cool down and stretch. I burned 560 calories in 1.5 hours of cardio and then I did Shiva Rea's Fluid Power from the Matrix, Mandala Namaskar I & II, Backbending Vinyasa, Forward Bends and Twists, and Shavasana (60"). I added an inversion at the end and a final twist for purposes of recirculating the blood after getting into the hips so deeply in the forward bending and twisting segment. I know my hips have to be full of toxins with the stress I've been under.

Whoa....that different segment of Rebecca Small that I did really took some brain power. I only learned a 15 minute block and repeated it about 3 times. First time I was totally lost and thought I was hopeless...second time I did a bit better and third time thru just a bit better, but still got really lost at the very end of the block. I wanted to keep trying it over and over to see if I'd keep getting better (can you tell I'm worried about my brain functioning properly at my new job), but I thought I should quit when I looked at my HRM and I'd been doing aerobics for 1 hour and 20 minutes...so I cooled down and stretched.

I freaked out at the Christmas Party yesterday. I went to put my glasses on out of the case and I couldn't see. My one lens was missing. Thank God the screw was in my case and we eventually found my lens. All I could think of is calling in to my new job on Tuesday to tell them I'm gonna be late cuz I have to get my glasses fixed (since I can't wear my contacts with all of my eye problems) and I have no other glasses. My DH can't see very well (cuz he needs glasses), so what does he do?....he drops the screw and then everyone was looking for it!! Thank God...we found it and they're fixed.

I'm getting ready to soak in the tub. We're going to a movie later but I'm not sure what. I wish I wasn't so nervous about starting this new job. I can't stand how nervous I am. I know I'm not going to sleep tomorrow night!! Why can't I be a laid back person?

Jen - Beth (BPAl owner) posted that the update will be some time on New Year's DAy. I certainly hope it goes up early enough for me to check it out and order before bed time.....cuz I have to work the next day and won't have time to do it then....and I'm thinking with them partying on NYE....they won't be up that early and they live in California! I'm glad your DH is enjoying the oils also. Mine doesn't wear anything like that.

Karin - Are your parents visiting yet?

Megadoo - Do you end up ordering Jennifer Kries new one?

Tammy - C'mon.....be brave and try Shiva's Fluid Power again. Let me give you a tip....always be on the same leg she is and if you need to pause it to figure out which leg is wear ....go ahead and rewind ...examine her foot placement, etc. and then try the pose on your own a few times and then it will start to flow together....I hope!! That's what I had to do at first and sometimes even now, if my DH walks thru the room and says something and breaks my concentration, I get all messed up.

My DH says I'm overtrained from working out too many hours a day. He says I'm really irritable. I have been irritable but I think it's from my constant pain and nervous anxiety about this job. I remember last time I was off work for a little bit and then went back, I kept thinking....how did I do everything I wanted to do at home and work all day! I am really able to keep myself busy when I stay home. I won't have a problem when I'm retired!!

I saw over at VF that the CIA series details for this year have been posted. There will be a presale next week. I loved my CIAs from last year.....so now I've got to figure out where to dig up the cash for them. Also, Mindy posted on her site that she's coming out with more Gliding DVDs and a few other new workouts and will have a presale the beginning of January.
Yes, any lurkers who care to join us for the New Year, please do so.

Hi ladies! I have not worked out yet today and am considering a rest day. Something is going on with my ankle and/or shin. I am not quite sure exactly where the pain is coming from and don't care to keep jumping on it to find out. I can tell it's just an exercise injury, since it is not hurting during my "activities of daily living" only when I am doing step or high impact. I think whatever it is (probably muscle strain) happened during Kick Max and I have just been aggrevating it since. I have an ACE bandage on the areas now-LOVE those things!

New Year's resolutions anyone? I haven't figured mine out yet.

Lora-Hope you enjoyed your soak in the tub with your Lush stuff, sounds delightful! So, what is so special aobut the BPAL updates? Is that when new stuff is introduced or is something else going on? Did you see my question about those fuzzy, white rugs in the Kundalini videos? I keep seeing them-what's up with that? Do they help the practice in some way or are they spiritually symbolic of something? I am going over to VF to check out the CIA news. I don't have any of their workouts, but have always heard good things about them!

Hope everyone is enjoying themselves today! Thanks for brightening my days and I look forward to chatting with you in the coming year!
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi Girls!

I did CC#3 today and then some ab work.

Lora: I AM going to try Fluid Power again, but first I want to preview it. Put some clear nail polish on the screws in your eyeglasses....it will help keep the lens in. I work in an opticians office and we go through quite a bit of clear nail polish.

Jen: I hope your leg feels better soon....good for you for listening to your body. I'm not partial to any particular brand of soy milk....my husband does the grocery shopping so I get what he brings home...LOL! I'm enjoying a Vanilly Soy Latte right now!

Happy New Year's Eve to all of you....stay safe!

Jen - Yes, I saw your comment on the fuzzy rugs. I wondered the same thing when I saw them. I think they are just for visual/colour purposes?? I think Ana's outfits are funny too. My DH always tells me to do Dancin' the Chakras in my undies so I look like her. LOL. What's so special about an update??? OMG!!! The Lunars are some of my fave's and now there will be 2 Lunars a month. Also, the 2nd Act of the Long Anticipated Carnivale Diabolique series is going live!! Maybe even 2 Acts at once and the next update after this one is the Lupercalia Update (or Valentine's Day to us normal peeps). Last year's Lupercalia update generated Smut....one of my favorite BPAL scents to date. Also, Red Lantern, Luperci and Nite's Pavilion. Then there is a Valentine's Inquisition going live in January for V-Day. The Inquisitions we've had in the past on the Trading Post (Linked from the main site - Beth's fiance owns Black Phoenix Trading Post that sells tee shirts, some oils, statues, jewelry, imp boxes, etc) have been last year's Naughty/Nice one for Christmas and the we had a Trick/Treat one for Halloween. The idea is to plead your case one way or the other and tell the Lab why you've been Naughty or deserve to be Tricked...etc, or you can just ask them to decide and they send you a bottle of a Limited Edition oil (out of a small collection Beth makes) and a tee shirt with lovely art work....last one's were glitter ink. This is the best time of the year to be a BPAL fanatic.....thus the reason I wanted a job!!! HE...hee....

Tammy - Yes, preview it and when you do, be sure to try some of the moves to see how she's moving. I know I had trouble with the Mandala Namaskar I segment more than anything ....where she leans on the side of her foot and twists in a lunge. Also, in forward bends and twists, she gets into a couple positions I have to rewind to see how she got there.

Catherine-LOL!!! Who IS that? Or maybe the question is WHAT is that? I would try it if I thought my butt would look better to me at that angle! :)

Tammy-I got the Silk unflavored, unsweetened but I bet the vanilla flavor is yummy. I like it! Not for regular drinking purposes, but I don't do that much anyway. For my Chai and Green Tea Lattes-it is doing the trick and seems to make them even creamier! (Oops, just wondering if they have a light version and maybe wondering if I should be using that instead?!) I also think it will work wonders for the steel cut oats! Are you making vanilla soy lattes at home or have you been to Starbucks again?!? If you are making it at home, do you mind sharing the recipe?

Lora-That's so funny about Ana and her undies. Re: BPAL events, so does that mean the oils are only available that day? (I know, I have a lot to learn about this. ) That's really neat about Beth's finance owning the Trading Post. I found the answer to the Kundalini sheepskin rugs at www.goldenbridgeyoga.com, Gurmukh's site. It says something like this: "Sheepskins were traditionally used by yogis meditating in remote and secluded areas throughout history. When meditating on wool, a person's electromagnetic field is less influenced by the vibrations of the earth-thus higher states can be achieved with less distraction." (That may not be an exact quote, but it's pretty close-I was writing fast when I found it.) Isn't that facinating? They even sell one on their website.

Jen

P.S. I made a seafood soup with orange roughy and cod today that I thought was good and very clean. I subbed some vegetable broth for the water to make a richer base. I checked the back of the cans of broth after eating the soup and I could not believe it. MSG AND High fructose corn syrup were in the broth! What the heck are those doing in a VEGETABLE broth? I was so mad! It was the Kroger brand. We usually don't shop there, but it's across the street from us so we went in a pinch yesterday. Shame on the Kroger brand-I will not buy it again-it's worth the trip to Whole Foods.

Hi ladies. No time for personals right now but just wanted to pop in and say hi and happy new year. No workout for me today. I figured that I should get all of my laziness out of me today so that I am ready to go tomorrow. I did spend quite a bit of time today making a rotation for January and I was thinking of you Jen and remembering how you were saying you were trying to plan yours.

Anyway, tomorrow is Kelly Coffey Meyer's New You Coming and the lunar flow from Yoga Radiance. I previewed her workout today and it looks really good with some very unique exercises in it. Woohoo! I am excited to have a plan and to get going again.

Today was 30 min on the bike and knee PT.

Happy New Year ladies!

Karin

PS - Jen, I tend to favor 8th Continent Vanilla Light Soy Milk. I find the consistency of the other brands too thick for my tastes. This one if more like the thickness of skim milk and it's yummy.

I just did B&G, but I did the stability ball abs instead of the regualar, ran on TM for a mile, then did the stretch.
I feel good about that WO. Got a good burn. Hope I burned atleast a little of all teh absolute JUNK I ate today. Gotta stop that crap!

Lora- not yet, but I am definately planning on it as soon as I am recovered from teh holiday spending.

Happy New Year! Cute pic Catherine. LOL!!

Gotta go get cleaned up!
