Trying to Fit Yoga In for Sat Feb 17

Morning Ladies-

This morning I did a recovery day workout. I did Turbo Jam Total Body Blast with the ball and skipped a few segments to make it shorter. Totaled 54" and burned 300 calories. This really is a lower intensity TJ workout. My HR only elevated to about 75% of my max. After reading that article yesterday, not really sure if I just wasted my time. I also did Yoga for Beauty with Rainbeau Mars...Dawn. Felt good.

Dawn felt so good. I always like to do this one when I'm having stomach problems or when I've taken too much Tylenol.....as it's very purifying and detoxifying. I needed to do that for both reasons today and it has seemed to help the stomach issues. I still want to try to fit in my Iyengar practice later for lower back pain (back is flaring a bit), although not sure I'll have time with everything on the agenda for today.

Jen - I just got done previewing Elite Forces. I popped it in after my workout. Looks fun....think I'll do it tomorrow with some Gliding added on. It's combat like, kicboxing with plyos, jumping jacks, jump ropes and squats (Gilad loves to squat, doesn't he?). The music is ABSOLUTELY horrid in this. Where the heck did he even find it? Oh my Lord!! I'll have to listen to some Buckcherry or something!! Yikes. I'm not sold on Soul Sweat yet........need to hear more when you get the moves down better...as someone over at VF said it was pretty intense....but everyone's different with intensity.

Cory's are only available on VHS....so I think I might take a chance and try a couple of the Joyce Vedral's....not sure how old they are, but at least they're on DVD.

Meg - Good going on the workout last night. I bet you felt good. Yuk...there's a Wolfmother song on. Can't stand that band......and I can't believe they beat Buckcherry out for the Grammy!! They suck!! BC deserved the Grammy....but then ..what do those stuff Grammy peeps know??

Yve - Haven't heard from the hospital yet. They said they would call me either way ...on Friday...but Friday has come and gone and I know there's a Temp doing the job....so, they're not in a big hurry....so, we'll see. I also have another job interview on Monday with a large Cardiology Practice on the other side of town....although it says "some transcription" and not really sure I'm into doing transcription again....but I'll do whatever I have to do while I look for the "right" job. Anything's better than Unemployment, right?

Well, I better go.....got lots to get done. I'll be back later.

Have a blessed day............Namaste! Wouldn't the world be a much better place if more people practiced yoga?? Yoga people seem to be so much kinder, gentler and compassionate.............maybe that's why I love yoga so much.

Good Morning Ladies! I need to be a cleaning machine today...the house is a wreck. There are also some doggies that need a bath, but it might be too cold for that. (I bathe them inside, but they still tend to get the shivers sometimes and I can't stand that.) I have no idea what WO is on tap for today....so many choices! May try to get DH to just do the Learn WO on TJ.

Lora-OOOOhhhh...Elite Forces sounds good! You are crackin' me up about the music. I usually like what you like-so you've got to tell me more about it. It is a poor attempt at driving rock or something?

Meg-OK I felt your forehead and it's fine. I guess of all the awful things on TV these days...Golden Girls is actually pretty wholesome and redeeming. So, I will give you a (very small***pushing thumb and forefinger to almost touching***) break ! :D

Lora, Goodness you are so right about the world doing yoga. It really could change things. I actually think it's the one exercise that once people experience it, very few seem to quit.

Have a good day, ladies-I will pop in later...hopefully with a much cleaner house behind me!

Jen - hope all is going well with the dog washing and house cleaning! I thought about that music.....and it finally came to me......it's like Circus music -- although I can't even remember being at a circus - but that's what it reminds me of. It's hideous!

Lora- I am so thankful that you have turned me onto yoga! I love it. I should get my SHiva on Monday. I was looking over the insert with my Jen Kries, and it looks great. Everything you need on one DVD.

Jen- there was actually a Golden Girls marathon on during my honeymoon, and you guessed it, I watched it for a couple of hours at night while my DH was sleeping! I have watched them for years. Love it!

I will bbl after my WO and dinner.

Jen - I'm bummed cuz I might have to revert to using my Rebounder tomorrow and not be able to do Gilad's (unless I do it on the Rebounder --just thought of that). My foot has been acting up. It's either plantar fasciitis and a combo of my previous stress fracture acting up from the weather ( and too much aerobics), or I strained it some how. I'm gonna ice it tonight. I think it's PF.....but my old stress fracture doesn't usually hurt....so I'm a bit concerned that the 90" aerobic sessions with no rest day is starting to take it's toll on me! I'm so pig headed though! I keep figuring I'll rest and take it easy when I get a job!

Meg - let me know what you do off that DVD. I hope you like it, as it's really different. I hope you do the beat on yourself/self massage segment.

Hi again! Please just cover your eyes so you don't see my messy house in the background. x( I did a bunch of laundry and folding clothes today and some minor cleaning...not nearly as much as I wanted to do...but DH & I are sorta' on vacation since I am taking the day off Monday and he has it off for holiday, so we are taking it easy. We did workout tonight. We did Budokon-full workout-and the Learn and Burn segments from TJ. He really liked Budokon...I knew he would-wink ;) wink ;) b/c we always know what's right for them, don't we? He hung in there w/ TJ better than I thought he would. I wore the 1 lb gloves that I got from BeachBody with the new TJ set, to make sure I still got a good workout. I was not expecting to like the gloves b/c I had seen some negative comments about them, but I actually like them. I like that they fit a little snug-they felt very balanced and secure and did not move around, which made them quite comfortable.

Lora-Oh God, circus music? You've got to be kidding! Re: your PF-that is a bummer!!! :( PF must be very frustrating to deal with, especially as much as you workout. It seems like you would be forced into rest days until it gets better. Is that what happens or can you find ways of modifying things? During a flare-up is it a better time for you to concentrate on weights, or can you feel it getting aggrevated during those workouts too? So sorry you suffer with that.

Megadoo-That's such a cute story about your honeymoon. So, now I am extra OK with you liking the Golden Girls! I am a romantic at heart! I was trying to think of what TV show reminds me of spending time with my DH and I think it's the X-Files. We would start watching it, but since it came on what we consider to be late on Sunday nights, he would fall asleep during it 1/2 the time. I would finish watching the show by myself because he can sleep with the TV on and I can't.

Have a great night everyone! Talk to you later!

Jen
