Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Cathe's High Step Challenge and then I added on a some Firewalkers (also tried doing them walking forward and backwards also (for the heck of it) and a set of speed skaters using my gliding discs. I also did about 25-30 minutes of Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio 2 (Advanced Level) and then I did Yoga for Athetes with Kim Fowler. My workout (before the yoga) was 1 hour and 50 minutes and I burned 630 calories. The yoga session was 55" and felt great.

Jen - Yes, I'm enjoying Hip Hop Abs very much. I think it is much better than it looks. When I previewed it, I was feeling a bit disappointed cuz I really thought I wasn't going to like it and wasn't sure it would get my HR up...but when I actually did it, I had fun and really liked it. If you put a lot of movement into it and follow Sean with some of the higher impact moves (as they have a person doing lower impact like in Turbo Jam), you can really get your HR up. The only way I can explain it is like taking some of the moves from kickboxing and funking them up to work your abs. Like doing funky kicks and contracting your abs and doing knee ups (funky while contracting your abs). Then they have their own "signature" moves and sometimes you look like your dancing like they do in those hip hop videos. They do a move that is like the "Housing It" move in Turbo Jam. All of these moves really do feel like you're working your abs and dancing. The music is a hip hop like sound track and I did notice the "Dontcha Wish Your Girlfriend was Hot Like Me" song by the Pussy Cat Dolls in the cardio DVD from yesterday. He also does some higher impact stuff in the advanced one, funky jumping jacks, plyo like moves, etc. His personality is really fun also. However, if you have zero rhythm and feel stupid doing the "Housing It" move from Turbo Jam, I don't think these would be for you.

I have a job interview on Monday. It's with the same hospital I used to work for in the Pediatric Psychology department.

Have a great day today. I've really got to try to get back to doing more Kundalini.........as I've been slacking in that category and doing my Stress Relief DVD at night.

Hi ladies,

I finally got my computer up and running again - but know that I have to buy a new one very soon.

So nice to be back - I have to take some time and catch up on the postings and learn how everyone has been - your news - etc.

So - belatedly - I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year - health and happiness for 2007.

Life has been pretty hectic - work is busy - we are going through a restructuring and I have been working late hours. Have had some family things going on - new nephew - a christening - bdays etc.
As well - am looking for a new home.

I have been faithful to my yoga and pilates classes. After Xmas and New Years - I began to do a restorative class twice a week - and only one vinyasa - as well as pilates 2x per week. My neck and shoulder issues have much improved (knock wood).
However - I have put cardio on the backburner - and really need to get back into it. It has been so long that the idea of getting back into it is overwhelming - does that make sense?

My new purchases: I bought the 4 TLTs. I haven't viewed them yet - as they only arrived yesterday - anyone have these?

Will take some time this afternoon to catch up on the posts - and will be back tonight...

Have a great day everyone!

Yve

Lora-I definately don't have rhythm....but I am trying hard to work on it :) :) ....so do you think Hip Hop Abs will help me with that :) :)? Plus, if it's cardio and it's fun....I need that....I need something to motivate me to do it.

Yve-Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) So glad you're back!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) ;) :)

BBL!

Hi again, ladies! Tonight's WO was Turbo Jam Burn (added weighted gloves) followed by Jari Love's Get Ripped. I did Jari's WO on Wed night and didn't feel it did much using her demonstrated weight and/or Terry's (the guy) weight. I loaded my bar 5 lbs heavier this time and my GOSH...what a difference!!!! I really like this workout, I am just not that excited about Jari or the music. I would definately buy this one...but would prefer to find one used or at a discount store. Until then, I will definately rent this one again from Netflix.

I have a post-wedding celebration to go to tomorrow night and my aunt's birthday lunch/dinner on Sunday, which is considered a very busy weekend for DH and I, since we try our best to do as little as possible on the weekends. I still plan to get my WOs in. I will probably be around very limited tomorrow, since I've got a lot of running around to do, but should be around more on Sunday. The post-wedding party is a Mardi Gras theme, so I have to find hats, or masks, or feather boas or something like that to wear. I am also going to try to find some fishnet stockings in a shocking gold, purple, or green color and maybe some fake eyelashes and bright hair color to put some streaks in. It's supposed to be pretty crazy...starts at 7 p.m. with no end time??????? and there will be about 75 guests. They have bought 30 bottles of wine, a frozen drink machine for Hurricanes that serves 100 people plus about 340 beers. :+ :+ :+

I am actually hoping we don't stay very long. I never really liked to party and like it even less now. Just too shy. DH is not a talker either, so it feels pretty awkward. We won't know anyone except the bride and groom. Hopefully, it will be a GREAT people watching experience, though!!! :+ :+ :+

Have a great night everyone! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....it's a snuggle up night!!!!
