Trying to Fit Yoga in for Friday Feb 2

Cathlete
Morning Fellow Yogi's -

This morning I did Cathe's Pyramid Total Body Premix followed by the Ab Segment from the same DVD. Then I did Step Gone Wild for about 45 minutes or so. Workout was 2 hours 10 minutes and I burned 640 calories. I followed this with Duncan Wong's Source Power Yoga - Flow Premix 55".

Duncan Wong's Source Power is a blend of Gung Fu martial arts, Thai massage and Asthtanga Yoga. It is very different and this is a very advanced DVD. Had to modify a lot, but I like it better than I like the beginner DVD.

Jen - now I remember which segment "did me in" last time I did it.....it was the shoulder segment.....tough one! I thought you'd end up trying it cuz there is a kicking section you can add and make it Budokon like. Speaking of Budokon, I previewed those again last night and I think they would be much better if he ended with some finishing yoga poses instead of that standing meditation.

Have a great day ladies - I'll be around.

Well there you are! Hi Lora, Meg, & everyone else who follows!

Lora - I'm planning to get PUB/PLB with my next purchase (along with one more Cathe, those Kelly Coffey, & a Gin Miller cardio step) & was curious about the combined W/O, since I usually do total body. How long is it & are most of the exercises included? Great W/O - again!

Meg - Sounds like that walk was a good W/O. How is the weather where you live? It's cold & snowy here but no accumulation, unfortunately! Is your tummy feeling better? I hope so!

I didn't have a lot of energy this morning (maybe that's still from my fall?) so I just did the original Total Body Sculpting (from Low Impact Step) & added the cardio only from Boot Camp. I also upped the weights & ended up feeling worked out but not too drained. All in all, it was a good Friday W/O for me, especially since my DH & I do a lot of construction work on Saturdays. I don't want to be too sore to help like I should!

Well, I'm getting ready to leave for lunch with a co-worker & since she's pregnant, I probably will end up not eating totally clean. Oh well. That's okay. After all, it's Friday!

Hope everyone has a great day.

TGIF!

Kel

Kel- I forgot to thank you yesterday for what you said about me being firefighter, so Thanks! The weather is in the 30's today and we are expecting snow. I wanted to walk because we are getting another real cold snap starting tomorrow and all next week. I am in upstate NY. My stomach isn't crampy anymore, but still feels off, know what I mean? Weird.

Meg - My stomach was hurting real bad this morning and I thought of you....although it's a common occurence with me cuz I have IBS. However, I did the belly pumping (cleansing)....can't think of the sanskrit name....this morning in that Source Power workout and it took care of everything. You don't have the Rainbeau Dawn DVD where she practices this? That's so nice of that person to send you those. The Kickbox is fun, but I always have to add a little intensity to it, as it's not very intense. She also looks a bit tired.....but I'm sick of people criticizing the poor lady........so I shouldn't even mention that. Some people are these forums are just so critical and closed minded!

Kel - It was about 55 minutes. I used dumbbells so I didn't have to keep switching the weights on my BB cuz I don't like doing that. It was solid...but no ab work........and I always thought total body included abs? No "out of the ordinary" exercises....high step ups, lunges, squats, chest flies, presses, pullovers, lat rows, tricep extensions overhead and kickbacks, bicep hammers and regular curls, calf raises. I'll let you know if I'm sore tomorrow.

I want to break out my Barry's Bootcamp and try the treadmill workout, but the DH is still doing P90 X! My sciatica is pulling a bit, but it's still not severe......fingers crossed. They're coming to look at our Eliptical today.

Finished WO. I did BC everything but core premix. Then I threw in Tracey's Kickbox challenge and did the kickbox drills premix. That was an awesome add on. You go right into the drills and go. I really liked it alot.
I hope to do some yoga tonight, but who knows.

Lora- no, I am getting Dawn though, hopefully next week. I would like to have that on hand next time my stomach hurts. Just been an off week you know? Glad it helped you.
I agree that the kickbox was fun! Atleast the premix I did. I see towards the end how she looked tired. But hey, she kept going and did a job tired or not! LOL!

Hi again!

Meg - You are very welcome. I just think so much of people who really go the extra mile to do something so important. And I really don't think I could do it. Glad you had a good W/O!

Lora - Thanks. That sounds like a good W/O & just right for me. I usually have one hour max. But I was also thinking about separating upper & lower W/Os sometime in the future too. I usually do total body only.

Well, it doesn't look like I will get in any yoga this week.x( But maybe I will be able to carve some time out over the weekend. At least I hope so.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I probably won't be around but if I'm able to pop in, I will.

Take care & stay warm!

Kel

Hi all! I rested tonight...feels good, I needed it. No measurements yet-DH was too tired last night, so maybe tomorrow. I have a Gilad WO coming tomorrow in the mail and Jari Love Ripped to the Core for Monday. I didn't like Jari the first time and returned the DVD without trying it, but I have decided in the interest of mixing it up to give it another go. Plus I think it's one DH might be interested in...since I think she has at least one male exerciser.

Lora-Crap! There was kicking in the DW DVD? I only previewed one of the WOs on it and did not see any kicking. That was part of the turn off for me. Guess I'll have to put it back in my Netflix queue. Do you have the new Turbo Jam on the Ball WOs or the Turbo Jam Live series? Would you recommend any of those? As silly as those felt this week (except the toning-it was great) I think I am seeing some results and getting leaner already and I am inspired to do them some more next week. For some reason, the moves were running through my mind today while I was at work...maybe my brain is trying to wrap itself around the choreography so it will fall into place one day soon!

Kel-PUB/PLB is AWESOME! You won't regret getting it! Let me know how you like the Gin Miller. I LOVE her cueing-she is the best at it that I've ever seen so far.

Megadoo-What is Tracey's Kickbox Challenge? Good job with the "walking bench press" today. :) :) LOL! How much weight were you pressing (Connor and stroller)?

Tammy-Whatcha' up to today? How was B&G? Do you still get major DOMS from that or has your body adjusted? (even if your mind never will :)!)

So, question to all of you: Who do you think has the best cueing? Can you think of a workout you were able to pick up on the first run through because the instructor was so good?

Also-One of my coworkers gave me a book to read today called The Kite Runner. She says it is a total page turner. Anyone read this? If not, are you reading anything good that you would recommend? What kind of books do you like?

Have a great night!

Jen

Jen: Good for you for taking a rest day. They are as important as workout days, IMHO. My legs were BURNING during the entire B&G workout today, but so far no DOMS...maybe tomorrow?

I did read The Kite Runner and LOVED it...I couldn't put it down. ENJOY!

Jen- Connor weighs 38 pounds plus stroller which is 10#s? It was a load up the hills! Tracey Staehle is another instructor that Lora introduced me to. A friend on the forums didn't want the vids anymore so she gave them to me. Very nice of her! I like Tracey so far. I still haven't figured out if she does the left vs right like Cathe yet LOL! I like her though. Her core one is tough.
I personnally like crime thrillers. James Patterson's Alex Cross series is my favorite so far, and his Murder CLub one too.
