Morning Ladies-

This morning I did Jari's Get Ripped 1000 and Hip Hop Abs Total Body Blast followed by Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness...Quickie premix. Workout was 1 hour 45 minutes and I burned 560 calories. Talk about false adverstisement.........the cover of Jari's workout says "Burn 1000 Calories in 1 Workout".......don't believe that one.

Yve - hope you have a good workout today.

Jen - What happened to you girl?? Missed you yesterday.

Meg - Did you get your new Yoga DVDs yet?

Hi ladies! Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday! I tried, but my computer was running very slow....like slower than dial-up slow. It seems to happen sometimes in our area-don't know why. After about 10 mins I gave up trying and took my tired butt to bed. Anyway, I did Gilad's Cuts and Curves last night and before that I did a DVD called Soul Sweat, choosing the Quick Sweat option, which is a shorter (30 min) version of the 45 min. total WO. I forgot to post a link last time I mentioned this one, so I will try to remember to post it tonight-should my computer cooperate. It's really dancy and not very intense, but could be more intense if you put extra energy into the moves. I liked the Cuts and Curves WO better than the Strength and Grace one, except for the cooldown music, which was very cheesy in this one. I really like resistance band work. My chest must have gotten worked indirectly somehow, because by the time I got to the hand weights portion, I had to drop weight significantly on chest. I usually can do 30 lbs (why I got them in the first place was for chest) or 25 lbs depending on the exercise and I dropped to 15 and then to 12 and then to 10. I kept thinking WTH ?!? Ten lbs usually feels like nothing to me-so something was going on. I am not sure what I will be doing tonight. I am in Cathe withdrawal now (what's it been about 2 wks?) and Turbo Jam withdrawal (from one day!) so, it's anyone's guess.

Lora-Thanks for missing me! :) You are so sweet for that! What was your take on the Gilad? Good WO today. I think I am going to have to write that one down! Funny about the 1,000 calories!!!! :)

Meg/Lora/All-Was thinking about P90X starting somewhere between July and September. Don't have the set yet and figured I would give some time to burn out on new TJs and Hip Hop Abs. What do you guys want to do? I'm flexible...just no more spending on WOs this month. Pocketbook needs a break! :) Unless I win the lottery...then I can "bring it" tomorrow! Ha! Ha! :)

Jen

P.S. Hopefully back to chat more later tonight!

Jen - So - can you elaborate on the Soul Sweat workout. I was checking out a post on VF and had it on my Wish List, but now I'm now so sure I want it. I don't need any more "not too intense" workouts for a while. Of course, I miss you - you always have so much to say. I haven't tried Gilad yet, just previewed. I'm planning on doing Cuts & Curves soon.....not sure I'll ever do the total Ab one in one sitting though. I also just got Elite Forces today...will preview it later.

Hi again! ***jumping up & down like a kid, grinning from ear to ear*** Computer is acting a little better now. Just got home from work and let the dogs out. DH is coming by to pick me up for dinner...Longhorn Steakhouse....yum!!! And my Turbo Jam Max Results and On the Ball WOs came today. And it's Friday.....gosh could it get any better?!? I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) I guess I am taking a rest day, which is good because my eye has started twitching again. x( Probably doing too much although it doesn't seem like it...the body knows best and it will tell you so!

Here's the link on the Soul Sweat:

Lora, I guess I would say it's like the free form dance portion of Shiva's Yoga Trance Dance, except more choreographed for about 95% of the workout. There are a few sections that are free form. There is a tutorial at the beginning showing all the steps and they make it seem simple, but when they get to the WO Chantal does very little cueing. I really need details-at least for the first few steps, like left, right, left and turn or something. It's a NIA based workout, so it's supposed to be more about freedom of expression and adding your own emphasis and style to the moves. I love the music and it goes really, really well with the choreography. It is similar to Shiva's music in that has a world groove flavor to it. The set is nice, nothing to bright or standoutish. Chantal moves beautifully and so does everyone else for that matter (I can't believe some of them don't have dance experience)-except for the guy in the back. Oh my! The cast synopsis says something like he was the first guy to ever be allowed on his school's dance team/dance line. So, you can imagine.....:) Chantal doesn't say that much during the WO but seems to really enjoy it-she is pleasant and relaxed. I don't regret buying this one because the steps are really cute (of course, some make me feel dorky, but I am trying hard to get over that feeling) so I am going to try to keep picking up the moves, but it will definately take me some time. I have only done the WO twice and felt pretty lost for about 50% of the time. Once you get the moves, you can add hops and get more creative with the arms. At this point, adding the arms COMPLETELY throws me off. I am not sure, but I thought I saw on Amazon that she had another WO coming out this month, or maybe that was just when they were starting to carry it. It also says there is a website, soulsweatdance.com, but when I tried it, it was not up and running. I read the VFers reviews and can't remember exactly what they said about it...just seems like they were mostly quite positive. It is not that intense of a WO on the surface, but it's a great add-on and when I got some of the moves down-in those parts it doesn't feel like a WO anymore...which is a cool feeling. I think you would ultimately like it, but I don't think it's a must have right now if you've got your eye on something else...I'd say make this one a lower priority or something.

OMG.....You are getting Elite Forces....can't wait to hear about it!

Gotta go-DH is in the driveway! Hope I spelled everything correctly, no time to review..

Jen

Jen -

Hmm....not sure about that one. Yes, the reviews at VF were positive. You'll have to give me more feedback. Too bad you're not familiar with Yoga Booty Ballet.....so you could compare. Have you ever tried a Joyce Vedral weight workout or Cory Everson? I've been eyeing those??? Hey, I'm sending you a PM...so watch for it.

Meg - Well, did you do Yoga for Athletes yet? How do you feel? :)

Hi Ladies,

Todays workout was 40 minutes on the treadmill, followed by Classical pilates technique magic circle series.

I am very tired today, as I had to be at a doctors appt first thing this morning across town - and then a full day's work. I think the snow and extreme cold is getting to me also.

I have been seeing a doctor who mixes both integrative and modern medicine in his practice. He tests all of the the hormones, and believes in natural hormone therapy. The benefit is that he does a full panel of blood work and knows how to read it! Thankfully - all my tests except for one came back ok.

Lora - have you heard back from your job prospect as of yet? I have Eionn also - and love that dvd.

Meg - don't feel so bad... I did my share of eating today also.. don't know quite what got into me - but when I get up super early, I just crave carbs. I even ate chocolate today - and just two days ago I was stating that I wanted to lose 10lbs!!!

Jen - you lucky gal! How nice that you are going out for a nice dinner. Special occasion - or just because? The Chantal dvd looks amazing - both meditative in its style and freeing.

Hello to all that follow.

Yve

OK, back from dinner-ate 1/2 again but feel totally stuffed like I ate it all.

Lora-Got your pm & you have mail! No offense on the Longhorn Steakhouse-I thought about it afterward and thought...that probably doesn't sound as good to you as it does to me. RE: WOs you mentioned-nope, don't have Joyce Vedral or Cory Everson but I have read somewhere that Cory's are really good. My mom used to have one of Joyce's books but I've never seen her WOs...are they recent or older?

Meg-Which Gilad did you see on FitTV, his toning or aerobics? Eat anything good? BTW, from Wednesday...you were watching what....Golden Girls!?! Golden Girls?!? :) Put your forehead up to the screen right now, so I can feel it. :) Are you running a fever or something? LOL! :) :+ :+ ;)

Yve-No special occasion. Just my one cheat meal for the week. That's so cool about your doctor that is both traditional and alternative med. Don't let the cold get to you...snuggle up to that soon to be DH of yours! Everyone at my job has been tired lately and so have DH & I. I think it's because we all should be hibernating right now. :)

Have a good night all! Talk to you tomorrow!

Jen

Lora- I just did Tracey's core conditioning and Yoga for Athletes!! I love it! Thank you so much. All the moves were perfect, and I am proud of my progress. I did the wheel! My wrists were getting sore from the planks, but I managed. I feel great!

Jen- I LOVE the Golden Girls!! I really do! I watch them all the time! LOL!!

Hi Yve! Nice WO today!
