Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did David Whitley's Power Circuit workout. I used my 15 thru 30 lb kettlebells for this and I did kickboxing moves during the rest periods. Workout was 62" and I burned 442 calories. Kettlebells and kickbox go well together - someone should make a DVD like that! This had a couple really tough parts. It alternated body weight moves with KB moves and jumping jacks, squat thrusts, Hindu pushups...etc. Two minutes of squat thrusts was tough. I added a couple sets of slingshot catches, suicide lunges and hot potatos to the end of this workout cuz they are some of my favorite moves. I liked this workout....but Extreme KB with Keith Weber still ranks #1 with the AOS ones.

Have great workouts everyone. Happy Friday!

Kel - ooooooh....I guess I bought the wrong Patricia Moreno workuot. I meant to buy the Yoga Dance Fusion one, but I bought Kicbox Yoga Fusion by mistake. Can you tell me a bit about Yoga Dance Fusion? Should I get it? What sort of workout is the Cardio Balance Ball? Don't be sorry you asked about liking the work at my job. It's okay........and I guess it would be better if the people weren't so neurotic and anal...etc. I just got Ellen's Yogini one last week, but haven't done it yet. I only did 2 segments from Jillian's 30-Day Shred, but it is my favorite of all of her DVDs so far. Closest to one of her book routines (sort of.....just more total body than frontside/backside like in the books).

Hi to Jen, Yve and Carrie (if you're out there Carrie!!).

Have a great day everyone. I'm very happy that it's Friday.

Good morning -

I was going to do some yoga this morning but my arms are sooo sore from yesterday's workout that I didn't think I could even hold down dog. So DH & I got in the hot tub at 6:30 instead... what a nice way to wake up! My legs aren't very sore anymore so I actually thought about doing leg drills on KM but didn't have enough time. I do plan on doing something tomorrow, though, so maybe I can do some leg work & some yoga too...

Lora - I've heard some good things about Kickbox Yoga Fusion so I bet you might like it anyway. Yoga Dance Fusion is very much yoga-based but it's just a lot more flowing than some traditional yoga routines tend to be. In the longer practice, she does a sequence & then keeps adding to it until you finally do the entire practice a few times at the end. I normally like practices that hold poses but I really did like this one because it just seemed like each pose naturally flowed right into the next & it didn't move too fast. I haven't done the shorter workout yet but I understand that it's more intense with more strength-based moves. Cardio Balance ball is a circuit workout & the ball is used in the cardio portions as well as the toning segments. It's not really intense but I liked it & I also added (optional) hand weights to the toning segments. I haven't done the shorter workout on this one either but it's supposed to be more intense too. So far, I've liked these new releases from Gaiam & I'm interested in hearing what you think of the Yoga Kickbox Fusion. That new Jillian one sounds good too... I may need to get that one. All of your rave reviews about kettlebells are making me want to get some of those too but I really don't have room. I'll have to wait until we finish my new workout room before I purchase any more equipment.

Hope you have a great "Finally" Friday. We are having day 2 of our open house today so we had to dress up & we need to be on our best behavior again. The media is going to be here around 1:30 & there are supposed to be "dignitaries" too, whatever that means. Then, family & friends are invited to come at 4:30 so my DH will be here then. That's really the only part I'm looking forward to.

Well, I better go look busy again for now. Hi to Yve, Jen, Carrie, & anyone else who may pop in. Hope everyone has a great day!

Take care!
