Trying to Fit in Yoga for Thursday Nov 23

Hi Ladies -

I just got up a bit ago. I don't feel good and don't feel like working out so, I think I'll pull out my Seasun SUS.....maybe it will help. I had an okay time last night, but not great. Our seats were sort of far back and while I was in the bathroom, right before BC came on....they let a bunch of people go stand in the orchestra pit right up front. When I came back and saw, I went up and asked Security if I could go up there with my niece and they said no, you had to be there when they did it. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, I REALLY can't wait for Monday.....I hope I can get out of work early so I can be there when doors open so I can claim my spot up front.

BC just isn't the same when they're not in your face!! LOL. This was a pretty mild crowd. The theater was actually gorgeous. It was an old theatre with lots of character. Even the opening band commented on it a few times. Mercy Fall, was the opening band and they rocked. I actually bought a CD after the show for $10. The current single they play on rock radio by them is called Insurmountable. I like the song.....they just started playing it around here.

My niece didn't really have that good of a time either....so that's another reason I didn't. Her and her boyfriend were fighting. I guess I made matters worse, cuz this morning I discovered he left her 2 messages on my cell phone....which I never even glanced at all night.....and he wanted her to call him. I better call her later to make sure she's okay.

I'm off to workout. I'll be back later.

Hi everyone! Very short on time this morning...gotta go clean, clean, clean. Then eat, eat, eat! Hoping to still get in a short WO today at some point.

Lora-Sorry the concert wasn't the ultimate experience! Sounds like you're going for a second pass...hope that is better!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!! :) :p :) :p

I'm back - I did Seasun's SUS for about 50 minutes. My HR was in the high 150's to low 160's. I can always count on having fun doing that one and burning some calories - 369. I then did the mini 10 minute yoga workout off of Dusk Yoga for Beauty with Rainbeau. It was a tease. I wanted to do a whole session but we have to go to 2 families today so I've got to jump in the shower and get ready to go, and I'm working tomorrow....yuk! At least I have the other Buckcherry Concert to look forward to on Monday and then it's back to my normal, mundane life. I hope I can get off work early so I can get a spot right up front.

August - HOw much do you think it costs to send a DVD to Japan for you? The reason I ask is because I have 2 copies of Seasun's Straight Up Step. My case broke so I emailed her and asked her for another case, and she sent me a case with a autographed DVD in it. She's such a sweetie. So I have the copy with the broken case. I could send it to you and tape it in to secure it so it didn't get scratched in transit, as long as it doesn't cost that much. I'm clueless with shipping to Japan. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Japan cuz you're an American? or do you celebrate the Japanese holidays instead? I'm just curious. (Every CARDIO HATER should own Seasun's Straight Up Step - -it's the workout that cheers me up and makes working out fun when I REALLY don't want to work out!)

Hi Jen!!

Well, I'll be back later and then I'm off for the day to the families. I doubt I'll have time to get any more yoga in today

;(

Hi, everyone!

Enjoying turkey?

Lora - Sorry to hear about the bad bathroom timing. That sucks! Did you get back to your niece?

Oh my gosh, are you serious about your extra Season? Are you sure? Are you sure, sure?! If you're sure, I would want to send you something in return so you must tell me what I could get you!! As for shipping, I'm not exactly sure how much it would cost to send a DVD over here...maybe a few dollars?

I did celebrate Thanksgiving in Tokyo with my family (my brother and mom are also here, so my brother's wife and her siblings came, too). We had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant that usually serves California Cuisine. There are tons of foreigners living in Japan, so there are lots of restaurants serving Thanksgiving. It was a delicious meal, although the gravy was....cranberry gravy ?!?!? and well, I guess I prefer to have my gravy and cranberry stuff seperate. :)

August - Okay - let me have your address and I'll get that out.

I have to run. I'm off to my husband's families and then my Mom's for Thanksgiving. Since I'm a vegetarian, I have a feeling I'll be eating lots of sweet potatoes today.

I PM'd you, Lora! Thank you so much!

I hope you had a good fill of succulent slices of sweet potato with veggie gravy and veggie stuffing, with a side of mashed potato LOL.

Actually, that doesn't sound half bad. :)

Are you a pumpkin pie or a pecan pie?

I prefer pecan, but the place I went for dinner had pumpkin...though I ain't one to complain about that!

I haven't been able to do my yoga practice in the last two days since I've been out until so late in the evenings but tonight I'll be here, so I plan to do Rainbeau's Power Yoga!

Hope you're all enjoying your feasting!

Hello ladies,

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving - enjoyed your family time and all the Thanksgiving goodies.

Today was a regular day for me. Being Canadian, we celebrated a month ago. Someone save me some punkin pie?? ;)

I did Seane's 90 minute Vinyasa flow this evening.
I have been working such nutty hours - I haven't felt like doing more in the way of aerobics. I'm enjoying the break at any rate.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Hello all! I actually worked out today. I think it's the first Thanksgiving I have ever worked out, so I think I have really made a commitment to lifestyle change. I did LowMax-step combos only and GS Biceps. I could not match Cathe's weight on biceps-man, she is so strong everywhere, but particularly strong there!

Lora-How are you feeling? Did you get any better today? I guess with two families to visit-no rest for the weary! I had a very small portion of meat at our gathering, mostly because it was gone early. If your families' spreads are anything like ours, I hope today was actually no trouble-with so many side dishes there's tons of meatless variety. You can also just skip right on to the desserts! :)

August-Did you see my post from Wednesday a.k.a. my idolization of Steve Ross? (Jen falls back to knees again, moving upper body in bowing motion.) Have you checked out his website yet? I am glad you got to have a Thanksgiving, too. Cranberry gravy?! What on earth did that look like and taste like? I can't even imagine. I did have cranberries in my stuffing this year, which was not the usual, but it was really, really good.

Yve-Sorry to hear about your Uncle. I hope you had a good visit with him-I am sure he is glad to have your company. Tea with cognac & honey-WOW...sounds like that concoction could tranquilize a horse! :) I'll try that one the next time I am sick!

Megadoo-I previewed IMAX 3 today. Ummmm, I just don't know, I think I am more scared now that I was when it was in the wrapper. I think I will make that my goal to work up to for next year. Conquer IMAX 3. I loved, loved, loved the music! Tainted Love rocks! I still don't have IMAX 2 yet, so I'll have to tackle that one first, unless I should try the original IMAX first. What do you think?

Hope you all had a great day! :9

Yve - Do Canadians eat the same kind of meal or is it totally different?

Jen - OMG! I totally did NOT see your Wednesday post!! Thanks for pointing it out. I just hate to miss posts! x( Hate that! I hadn't even seen Megadoo's or Yve's posts after yours.

So let's see. I just took a look at Steve Ross' homepage. Why doesn't he have any workout DVDs? Is it because of the music licensing issues?

The cranberry gravy was....well, it looked like gravy with a bunch of cranberries in it, and the gravy was tart (obviously :) ). It wasn't bad by any means, it was just...I ended up feeling like I wanted to eat some cranberry sauce, and dip my mashed potatoes in gravy. But I had no trouble eating it all! :D

Hi August,

LOL re the cranberry gravy.

Yes - Canadians eat the same kind of Thanksgiving meal. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and side veggies, pumpkin or apple/pear or pecan pie....but the usual holiday issue at my home is this.

Some of my family do not like turkey - and some don't like red meat... So - the usual holiday fair will consist of both turkey and roast beef...with all the other stuff - and bc mom loves to throw in something to remind us of our Greek heritage - there will also be tiropita/spanakopita (cheese/spinach pita); some stuffed grape leaves (or swiss chard if unavailable); and usually some baklava to go along with the other desserts. So for 'good eaters';) like me...well....lets just say the morning after guilt prevails!

Hope you all enjoyed your holiday.
