Tried RTTC 1000 & Bento's Bootcamp over the weekend......

Love's workout was definitely better than Bento's, Drill Max blows them both away.

I think my biggest issue w/both DVDs was the cooldown after the cardio segments. I'd rather jump right into strength training than waste time w/a cooldown. IMO it's a much more efficient way to burn fat--I like to keep my heartrate up for the next cardio segment which Cathe does really well with DM (& I assume w/the rest of her circuit workouts?). And I do not want to stretch after every cardio segment. I can do that myself. Quit taking up my DVD time w/stuff I can do myself.

Also I had a problem w/the fact that Bento had no pushups in her workout. I'm relatively new to circuit training & not very knowledgable, but I just don't see how you can have a circuit workout without pushups b/c they work so many muscle groups. Doesn't make sense to me.

On a positive note, Jari Love's cardio kicked butt. I just wish there were more of it. :p

I to, enjoyed Jari Love's RTTC 1000 workout, but like you said, I don't care for the time in between...such a waste.
I'm debating on whether I should sell them or not, I think I might try it one more time. The other thing that I don't care for,she looks like a barbie doll, can't she pull her hair up????? :)

I don't have any of Amy Bento's DVD's, I was reviewing them on CollageVideo. She looks fun, looks a lot like Cathe's. In your opinion, what are her best workouts?

Right now I am working on ordering Cathe's new DVD's...I hear they all are great!!! My financing hasn't been cooperating lately...:(

Have a Good One!! :)

I find that Jari's workouts do not have enough back work for my liking. During the stretch sections I will do lat rows. The right side during one stretch and then the left during another. Throw in some triceps and you can keep your heart rate up and get the extra muscle work in. Her workouts are a nice change and I enjoy them. I just hope she doesn't get any thinner.

I know I wasn't the one you were asking, but I'll chime in. I think her latest Xtreme series is great. Her earlier workouts had lower production values and lots of "woo-ing". I can't comment on the workouts, because these factors alone prevented me from ever ordering. But they are now available cheap on DDD, so it may be worth the discounted price.

She goes right into the moves on both Hi/lo and Kickbox Xtreme, so they have a bit of a learning curve. And if you think a premix is the way to go in the beginning, be sure to review what's in the premix you've selected. Most of them contain the finished combo without the break-down, making it even harder to learn. Fortunately, there's a section on the DVD that says exactly what's in each premix. But the workouts are a blast. Amy's Hi/lo is choreographed enough to be interesting without being too dancy. Her kickboxing is more like hi/lo with kicking and punching involved. It isn't fierce like a true martial arts workout. I've modified in places to put more power in my punches, but that's just me (specifically, I don't like doing a hook from my rear arm, nor do I like double jumping sidekicks).

Amy is extremely relaxed and camera-friendly in her workouts. She really seems to be having fun and her energy is amazing! The music, especially on the kickboxing workout, is fantastic!

I don't have APX, there's so much footage of it (an hour, 52 minutes) on HLX, I'm still working with that. Of course, you have to skip around in the chapters of the premixes to get to it all. Still, I thought the HLX was a bargain. The actual APX DVD has all sorts of premixes and that would be it's advantage - even a 3-day split. The exercises are unique and use a lot of equipment. Fortunately, I had everything (even found a way to rig a pull-up bar without using 24 risers, as she does).

I think there are longer previews on nrgfitness.net and you might want to check them out.

Sorry to be so long-winded.

I agree--I only have the 3 but I'm very impressed w/her hi/lo & kickbox workout. And I like her personality as well.

i haven't done jari's workout yet but it looks interesting. i like the idea of doing weights instead of stretch. what i didn't like about it is that sometimes you only see her upper body. i follow a video better by watching their footwork.
