Tricep pulldowns at home

This week I started easing back into my routine at home (I might get to the gym next week but I'm still not ready). Realizing I now have enough weights (thanks Dad! :)) to do my arm routine, I did shoulders & tris in the basement.

So, while I'm reasonably certain someone has thought of this already, I figured I'd post in the unlikely event no one has. Part of my tri routine includes pulldowns on the cable machine at the gym. So I looped my green & purple bands over my pullup bar. Presto! Instant one armed tri pulldown.

I think it'll work for tricep pushdowns too, but I'm hoping I never find out. ;)

Hi Laura..Tricep push/pulldowns are my favorite. :) I've been doing that too for about the past 8 weeks as a finishing move. I'm up to using 3 bands and I loop them over the top of my door. I anchor the door with two heavy DB's. I do two sets until failure..they're a real burner. :p

What's a tricep pulldown? (Tricep push-downs I know. Pulldowns for back, I know. Never heard of a tricep pulldown...maybe under another name?)

Thanks for the video (I find the animation fascinating! really!).

How do you find it works the triceps differntly from a push-down?

It just hits the muscles at a different angle, just like doing reverse grip bicep curls is slightly different than doing traditional grip curls. Also, when it comes to my routine, I do 2-3 exercises using both sides & 2-3 exercises isolating each side to fix imbalances (not that I won't always be imbalanced in some way).
