Treadmill question

For those of you who own treadmills:
How much would I have to spend in order to get a good treadmill that would last a long time? Any brands any of you would suggest?

I have only had two. I would definitely reccomend any you buy getting an extended warranty. We had a proform the first time. Between dh and I we put many miles per day on it. The motor burned out in a little past a year. Now I have a Nordic Track near the top of the line and with a warranty. It is so much better. I love it. The belt is wide, it gradually changes speeds, and has so many programs built into it. It also has iFIT technology, which I think quite a few pieces of fitness equipment has. I really like it. I even have fans on it:)

We have a Landice. They are expensive but worth it. Like Diane Sue, we bought extended warranty. We've now had it 8 years and have never had a problem. It gets a lot of use by both me and DH. Also, our model is longer (DH has very long legs) wide belt, incline and 5 different programs. It also measures calories, distance, etc.

I have had a Proform for about 10 years. It has never given me a second of trouble. I didn't pay for the extended warranty and I'm glad I didn't. Between myself and DS, we run about 6 to 7 miles a day on it.

I paid $600 for it, and bought it from Sears.

I also just brought a Landince like Jo said it is pricey but so worth it. It comes with a life time warranty on everything even if you pass it on to the next generation.

I also have a Pro Form, for ove ra year now and haven't had a problem yet. It got me thru my marathon training, so I'm saying that I've put a lot of miles on it already! It was priced about $600 from Modell's and had a coupon from the Entertainment Book, so it was cheaper than that. GOOD LUCK!

I've had a Life Fitness for 10 years now; I walk 20+ miles/week on it. It comes with a long warranty--can't remember how long, but several years ago I had a service call and everything was covered for. I hadn't heard of Landice at the time--with the way I use this thing, I will probably go for a brand with a lifetime warranty next time, even though I love my current treadmill.
