tread climbers -yay or nay?

Just wondering if anyone owns one of these...I think its bowflex that makes one for nearly 2g's.

If so, is it a dust collector? Better than a treadmill? Or nothing to write home about?

I dont own one but a friend does. She has lost lots of weight and she swears by it. I tried a workout on it and it really got my heart pumping and my legs shaking. However, it is bulky and I am not sure it has a space saver design.

I had one along time ago and loved it. Only thing is it was really loud. Maybe they have changed since then though. I wish I still had that thing.

Aside from Bowflex, who else makes them? Proform use to but I don't see it on their website anymore and the bow flex one is way to expensive for me.

Then again there is that Tony Little thing and I am wondering if that would be the same type of workout?

I have one, and I love it. Although I probably only use it once a week - I like to vary my cardio. I did use it a lot when recovering from a knee injury, it is really easy on the joints.
It is a lot smaller than a treadmill and not as quiet as some of the really nice treadmills. It is a great workout, your legs have to push through every step. You can change it to treadmill mode - but it does not have incline. I searched google and found a local dealer so I could go and try it out first.
If you love doing cardio on a machine go and try a bunch of them out, side-by-side - because they are expensive.

Check out www.eopinions.com for user feedback.

I think they look intriguing, but I wouldn't want to buy it without trying it out. It looks like a movement that might not work for everyone.

Also, sure looks like there are a lot of parts that could break down, and since it's such a specific machine, only the Bowflex people could fix it (and would you have to send it in for repairs? Egads!). I think there are quite a few comments on Eopinions about repairs needed.

Also, one thing I wouldn't like is that you can't change tension while you are on the machine. You have to get off, and change a knob at the bottom front. Makes it pretty useless for interval work.

I think there is only one Treadclimber. Bowflex must have bought Proform out.

What Tony Little thing are you talking about? I've just seen his "Gazelle," which is a very different type of machine.

Thanks. That website is quite helpful. I think I will probibly NOT consider this treadclimber afterall. The part where someone wrote it came in three heavy boxes and you had to put it together and the fact that you cannot change speeds while working out is a turn off. That considering the money they want...maybe I would consider it for a few hundred bucks instead of a few thousand.
