Transforming Violets in August!!!

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
Welcome to August, Violets! Road Trip month has finally arrived! :7 I am so excited! :7 I am hoping to get back on track with daily check-ins after the Road Trip. The next week will be super crazy for me!

This joyful journey is about so much more than shrinking into a smaller size. It is about being transformed from the inside out and celebrating positive life changes and transformations of all kinds. If anyone else wants to join us, please feel free. We are a small but fun and friendly group.

Jean and Wendy, are y’all still with me? ;-)

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hello Heather, Wendy and Kim and anyone ones else who stops by.

I'm still here. Just not much time for posting. I am finally getting back to a solid workout routine and have been success for the past 3 weeks to get in at least 4 days and moslty 5 days a week some form of exercise. Yesterday was 2 miles on the TM the morning and then spin class last night.

Since it's the first of the month I took my measurments this morning. I lost 2.5 pounds since last month. I know that doesn't sound like much, but since I have been stuck in the same range for so long, I am relieved to have finally dipped below that range. I haven't weighed this since March of 06. So maybe I can actually get past my habit of loosing and gaining the same 5 pounds and actually continue to loose to reach my goal.

Heather and Wendy, can't wait to see you next weekend.

Jean

Hey guys! Remember me??? Have had a crazy few months. Long story short, I left my DH (for many reasons), I had moved in with sister for a few weeks, my DH finally moved out of the house, and I am back home, with a working computer and trying to get life back on track. I start a new job tonight, waitressing, but the place brings good tips. My cousin has worked there for 8 years. Anyway, it has been tough, but I am ready to begin a new chapter in life.

I took my measurements today. NOT impressed at all. Everything went up, most just .25 to .5 of an inch, but my waist (where all my fat goes) went up 1 inch, and 2 inches around my belly button. That seems to be my fat collection point lol. But I know some of it is water weight since I had too much sodium yesterday. It sucks, but I am confident I can bounce back quickly. It is the first of the month, and I have a game plan.

So, Heather pleased to read your post, always so uplifting.

Jean- sounds like you are doing really well.

Hi Maeghan,

Great to have you back. Sorry to hear of everything you have gone through, it sounds like you are back on track with everything going on in your life. Best of luck with the new job and everything else you are going through. Hope that means we'll see you around more often.

Jean

I am very proud of myself. I had a good first night at work. I think I can handle it. Atleast tonight wasn't to busy, so I could really learn everything. And, I ate a grilled chicken salad. I wish I knew how many cals were in it, but I didn't eat it all. Before I went to work, I had only consumed about 500 cals. Seems so low. Felt like more, so I am sure I stayed under or at my days goal.
Looking foward to tomorrows WO. Although my shoulder is sore right now. Hope it is fine tomorrow.
Have a good night.

Good morning. I have a circiut on tap today. I have been literally dreaming of which one to do! lol. I slept well, just stayed up to late. Didn't get home till 11:30 from work. Had to go pick the kids up at mom and dads. That stunk, but soon I hope to find a normal babysitter who can come to the house and be able to put kids to bed on time. ANyway.
I am thinking maybe Bootcamp, or C&W, or maybe even LIC. I just can't decide. Or do I dare to something off Terminator???

Well, I will let you know.

Hi everyone. Today's plan was something upper body, but when I got up I wanted cardio instead. Big mistake. My body wasn't convinced. I tried Cardio Fusion then switched to the tread mill. Only managed to get through a total of 30 minutes. I guess I should have stuck with my original plan. Don't know what's on tap for tomorrow.

Maeghan, glad you made it through the first night of your new job. Hope you and the kids are adjusting well to all the changes you've been through.

Jean

Heather,
I'm so excited too. I just got through packing most of my stuff for the rt. Can't wait to see you again. Are you arriving Thursday?

Wendy, hope to see you too. Can't remember if you said you were dropping in Friday or Saturday.

Maeghan, hope you're having a good week.

Jean

Hi everyone. Workouts have been light this week with the anticipation of the road trip. I am so looking forward to it. A little nervous knowing all the workouts we will be doing and with meeting everyone. Afraid I'll never be able to keep all the names and faces straight. As of Monday I will probably have transformed into a big blop of mush. Hope Ill be able to move.

Hope everyone has a great week and weekend. Don't know when I'll be able to check back in.

Jean

Hi girls!

I'll be popping in on the RT'ers from Saturday sometime to Sunday! I hope I get the chance the chance to meet both Heather and Jean and so many others as well! :)

Hi Heather, Wendy, Maeghan and Kim:

Well I'm hoping that the loss I had this morning (2.5 lbs since Thurs.) is a true loss from all the roadtrip workouts and not a dehydradation from traveling. If it is a true loss, maybe I can keep the roadtrip momentum going and keep that scale moving.

Heather, I had such a wonderful time with you on the roadtrip. Your excitement was so contagious. Keep up the good work.

Wendy, It was so nice getting to meet you in person. You are just as cute in person as you are in your pictures. And solid, wow! Maybe some day I can get there myself. Wish we had had more time to get to visit. But at least I got to meet you in person. Glad you dropped in.

Maeghan, how have you been and what are you up to?

Kim, what kind of workout have you been doing.

Jean

I am back! If you read the “novel” I posted in Open Discussion Monday, you already know that the Road Trip was an amazing and life-changing experience for me. There are no words to adequately describe the glory of that weekend. I will never be the same!

I am back in the game, fired up, doing the happy dance, and ready to blast off the rest of this fat. I have been battling the blues and missing Cathe and my beloved Road Trip sisters all week. I was so sad that I simply could not bring myself to unpack my bags and did not even bother to wash my hair all week. My last workout was Sunday morning, so it was not sweaty. I just pulled it up and went to work. Cathe’s message yesterday made my heart smile and inspired me to do the happy dance with her this morning.

I woke up early this morning, enjoyed my quiet time, opened my suitcase, pulled out the outfit and shoes I wore last Friday for my very first live Cathe step class, and got ready to do the happy dance. Body Max 2 was still in my DVD player. I did it the Saturday before the Road Trip. I have not been consistent with my workouts this month. Oh well. I still dropped 3 pounds in Catheland and have kept it off during this week of less than stellar eating.

I opened my autographed Rhythmic Step case and did the happy dance with Cathe and crew to start this Friday morning. Fun, fun, fun. I have more than one copy of this on VHS, but I am so glad I bought the DVD in Jersey last week. I was able to go straight from the warm-up to the challenge! I love it. I smiled the whole time, and my heart and mind were filled with warm memories. Rhythmic Step was perfect for my first workout after such an intense high.

I took a shower this morning with my special road trip shower gel and washed my hair. I got back on track with clean eating this morning too, but I am planning to enjoy a piece of cheesecake next Saturday for my birthday. By the way, my workout clothes smell like my cherry blossom body spray after a week in my suitcase! The secret is wearing plenty of body spray so you sweat sweetly!

I feel so out of touch with everyone, and I am looking forward to checking in again. I love y’all!

Jean and Wendy, it was so good to see you in Jersey! I am ready to start transforming again!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I have been MIA lately. It was awesome to finally get to meet Heather and Jean in person at the RT! I wish I was an OFFICIAL part of it so we would have actually had time to really hang out and talk but oh well. Hopfefully I get in next time!:)

Jean: TY for the compliment on my physique. I dedicate alot of time and hard work to my exercise so it's really nice to hear things like that.:)

Here are my work outs for the past 2 weeks since I haven't really been around at all:

M: Drill Max
T: ITread 3/40 min
W: Cardio Sculpt Express, 6 Min Abs
R: ITread 14/60 min
F: Isculpt #1/60 mins
S: 5 mile run/walk in park
S: Rest
M: Low Impact Circuit
T: ITread 21/35 minutes (interval training)
W: ISculpt #8/60 mins
R: 3.2 mile steady state run
F: B&G Leg Blast
S: Rest

Today is my rest day and tomorrow I will running 2.5 miles with a friend in the park in the evening.

I have decided to train for a half marathon which takes place in November so the above work outs are my first 2 weeks of a 15 week training plan I am following! I am so excited, nervous and scared all at the same time. OH-and I passed my exam! I am certified in personal training now!!!! I am about to get my resume together and start looking for a job! OMG! *bites fingernails nervously*

Okay, enough about me...it's your turn! NEXT!:7

Heather, so glad you are back in the game. Let's keep motivating each other so that road trip high doesn't wear off.

Wendy, that is so cool about training for a 1/2 marathon. Wish we would have had more time to visit in NJ. I would love to had heard all about it. I really don't know how you runners "Cheetahs" do it. I decided to start jogging a 5K distance to see if I ever want to enter a 5K. So this mronig I jogged 5K, but boy was my time bad. Good luck with the training and the resumes.

Kim and Maeghan, how are you? Any one hear from Kali in a awhile. Hope she is doing well.

Jean

Good evening, Violets! I am shrinking again! Good news! I peeked at the scale this morning. I did not get back on track with clean eating until yesterday and was delighted to discover that not only did I keep off the 3 pounds I left in Jersey, but another 4 pounds melted away this week! That is 7 pounds since the Road Trip started! Yippee! I am more in touch with my body and how much food I need to eat. Even though I have indulged in richer fare than normal, my portions have been moderate. It is PMS time too, so this is excellent news! The size 20 capris I bought in Jersey are getting big on me after just one week! Cathe’s live classes kicked my metabolism into high gear or something!

Kick, Punch, & Crunch was my fun workout today. I am flying by the seat of my pants for a few weeks until I visit my niece Labor Day weekend. I am hoping to start a new rotation when I return home the day after Labor Day. If the new Cathe DVDs are not here yet, her August rotation looks great! I transferred money from my Road Trip savings account to my checking account so I could pay my credit card bill for my hotel room and the clothes and gifts I bought for this trip. I also returned a few extra outfits that I did not need for the Road Trip. Other than that, I slept late and enjoyed several long naps throughout the day.

The worship service was precious tonight. My pastor blessed me with a big hug. It felt good to be at home with my church family again.

Jean and Wendy, it feels good to be checking in with y’all again! Other than Rhythmic Step yesterday morning and Kick, Punch, & Crunch this morning, my only workouts for the past 2 weeks have been the live Cathe Road Trip classes!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Heather,

It sounds like your body just needed a break and then the road trip kicked it into high gear. Glad you're keeping the momentum going by watching your portions. Congrats on a great loss.

This morning was B & G Timesaver. I needed to do something for the lower body and that did the trick. Amazing how there are so many exercises that don't require equipment and how well they work.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

My cycle has been wiping me out this week. I have not worked out at all since last weekend! I enjoyed the stability ball segment of Stretch Max Sunday morning. It appears that I am destined to be a weekend workout warrior this month. Now that my cycle is finally over, I am hoping to enjoy a fun Cathe step workout in the morning. I may even give Step Max a whirl!

If I do not check-in tomorrow night with a workout, please give me a firm kick in the butt!

Jean, I responded to your thread in Open Discussion. I want to let you know again that I am praying for you. I am so sorry about your precious Sunshine. What a heartbreaking loss.

Wendy, hugs to you!

Blessings,
Heather B.

I did Step Max for the first time this morning. Oh my! Cathe is adorable, and the old-fashioned warm-up made me smile and took me back to the 80s! I could just imagine her dancing around with her pom poms in high school! Most of the workout is too linear and basic for my taste, but I did not have the mental focus for a more complex workout like Low Max this morning. Cathe was cute when she was younger, but she is radiantly beautiful now. I am amazed at how she gets prettier and fitter ever year. Her hips look smaller now too, and I am not sure how she pulled that off after having 2 babies. I will say that Cathe’s workouts are much more aesthetically pleasing and easier on the eyes since she took control of her sets. I can deal with the outfits in Step Max. I love the pretty lavender color, but the orange walls are something else!

I started celebrating my birthday tonight. I am enjoying all the fun food this month, but I am ready for the vacations and celebrations to be over so I can return to the simplicity of eating in a way that blesses my body. I enjoy celebration eating, but I love the way clean eating makes me feel!

Blessings,
Heather B.
