Too Tired to Think!

Hello everyone! I'm just checking in to hopefully get some support, haha. I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant and have lost every single ounce of energy I once had. Once 3pm rolls around I'm ready for bed! I don't remember being like this during my first pregnancy but that was close to 9 years ago now. I feel horribly guilty because the thought of exercise makes my brain tired! My doctor really wanted me to cut back on the intense cardio during my first trimester but I'm finding it extremely hard to even go for a walk most days! I'm hoping that this will pass during my second trimester - any hope?!

As far as my eating, I've done a complete 180! Every food I ate prior to my pregnancy makes me siiiccckkk right now. That means, pretty much all protein and salads, haha. I try my best to force it down but my best friends have been pasta, bread and carbs. I find it amazing though because I didn't give most carbs a thought before my pregnancy and I didn't particularly care for pasta anyway! Now, I can't get enough! Please tell me this will subside shortly before I turn into the goodyear blimp! Thanks everyone!!

I could have written your post with each of my three pregnancies! Don't worry, when the second trimester rolls around your energy will come with it. As for the eating, I and many others here were just like you! Carbs were all I could stomach the first trimester of my last two pregnancies. The thought of a salad turned my stomach. Just be patient, only a few more weeks till things get better!!

Congratulations!!

Hi Tamara and Stephanie!

Tamara, I posted an almost identical post to yours about 16 weeks ago. I think it was called "Help! I'm so Tired!". I was an avid exerciser before my pregnancy--sometimes I would do two Cathe workouts a day. However, my first trimester, first baby, and all I wanted to do was sleep. I feel like I slept most of my first trimester. However, by about the 16th week, I felt much better, and into the second trimester, I was exercising and much more energetic. Oh and I did really crave carbs. To be honest, it has been hard for me to get my pregnancy diet under control, but I do pack high-protein snacks now and do my best to avoid the muffins and doughnuts. It will get better!! :)

Take care,
Dawn

Dawn & Stephanie,

Thank you SO MUCH - it makes me feel much better knowing that I'm not the only one who has felt like this! Stephanie, you put it perfectly. Carbs are really all I can stomach. So as far as my pasta cravings, what I've been doing is buying lean cuisine pasta lunches and they do satisfy me pretty well. But it doesn't replace the real thing ;) I've been trying my best to eat a salad here and there but I usually end up throwing it away. Dawn - congrats to you! It's funny you mention donuts because that's top of my list! Thankfully, I'm in south Texas and there are no Dunkin Donuts or anything like that in sight! I have been on a quest for a bagel actually but no luck ;) So, you're telling me that I'll be back IMAXing again soon, right?! Thanks ladies!

yep same here the first tri I was exhausted. I was surprised since I wasn't big and preggo yet-still looked the same. but it still zapps it out of ya. hang in there. yeah the second tri was the easiest for me.

I am 16 weeks. At just about yoru stage, around 10 weeks, I started to improve... Day by day. It was hard for me this time around. With my first pregnancy, I was not in very good shape, so exercise and diet were not important. With this one, I swore I would be that super fit perfect pregnant person at the store who look amazing. I was so tired adn coudl barely move. I remember putting my son down for his nap an hour early because I just could not keep my eyes open and slad and chicken made me want to vomit. All the foods I used to love made me feel awful. Gummy bears were all I wanted. And still do! I am not the perfect pregnant person I thought that I would be, but I consider myself lucky to know that I can go back to all of it before too long. How on earth could I do a high intensity video with boobs like this? :)

HAHA! I tried to go for a walk/jog the other day and I thought to myself, "Oh no way..my boobs are too sore for this nonsense!" As far as the eating, I'm really trying my best because I want to bounce back quickly. During the day I usually pack my own lunch and bring healthy snacks, as nauseating as they may be! I've stopped counting my calories, just making wise choices, or trying to! At dinner, I've started eating with the fam again instead of making my "own" dinner and that makes me feel good :) But I snack at night...I can't help it...this baby wants s'mores!!!!!

I tried doing rhythmic step last nite and made it halfway through, haha! I feel like such a wuss! Thanks for the encouragement - I'm waiting for the 2nd trimester (not so) patiently!

Congrats on your pregnancy. I'm 15 weeks along & am still awaiting this "2nd trimester honeymoon" I was promised. LOL

Anywho, come join us in the weekly check-ins. We'd love to have you. :D

I'm right there with you! I am 8-9 weeks and have been so tired. I've only managed a few hours of workouts each week, and have been eating carbs like crazy. I don't even buy lettuce because my once beloved salads make me sick. I'm up 5lbs already, which is about where I was with my first baby at this point.

Don't be discouraged. When I was pregnant, all I wanted to eat was what I previously considered "junk". I had all of these great intentions of eating clean while pregnant, but once it happened, I wanted bad-for-me carbs and fast food. The good-for-me stuff did not appeal to me at all, and I had almost no desire to exercise in the beginning. I finally came to peace with the fact that my body would crave what my baby needed...and it did get better as I got further along in my pregnancy. Do the best you can and don't worry about it. The good news is that all of the healthy habits that you doing before you got pregnant are really going to help you bounce back once you welcome that beautiful baby into the world. Good luck to you!
