Lisa, I'm a complete loser. I didn't catch your follow-up question on your ACE certification studies that you posted.

I'm somewhat on the scientific bonehead side myself, so for me repetition of all study modes (textbook reading, study guide workbook and sample test) worked best for me; I found that with each repetition things sunk in a little more.

It also helps to try to take each and every principle, no matter how minute and seemingly esoteric, and apply it to your own exercise performance and history.

I came away from my ACE studies with the sense that, if exercise physiology is complicated, it's the complication of a zillion simplicities added together.

Many people too find ACE study classes beneficial as well. If after a couple of thorough passes through the text and study materials you're still not getting it, you may want to check out any local training classes in your area for specific points you just aren't getting.

I know for me, if I live to be 100, I'll never understand the concept of "torque". What a load.

RE: To Lisa

Thanks Annette! I do plan on taking an exam prep course in December. In fact I've already registered. Only thing is, I can't get up the guts to tell my husband that I am planning on getting certified.
Lisa:)
