No, not the hairstylist who owns the salon question, but what about workmen/craftsmen? We are finally doing some home renovations and having hard wood floors put down. Do we tip the worker(s) at the conclusion of the job? And if so, what are the amount guidelines for something like this? Anyone know? TIA

My hubby says "no" and he is self employed you just hope you get recommendations off your customers.

I agree, no to the tipping but if you're home while they're working no harm in giving them snacks or refreshments. Might ensure they pay extra special attention to their work and do it right
DH and I hired a contractor a few years ago to put up an addition - basically foundation and framing and finished on the outside, we're doing all the interior finish work.
He and his two man crew did a FANTASTIC job, came in on time and UNDER BUDGET, and handled everything. DH and I had zero stress from this process. So we decided to give the contractor a cash bonus ($400) when we paid the final bill that he could divvy up with his crew as he saw fit.
