Today is a rest day for me, so I slept in!...really lovin' the 2 days off a week;)

Hi Everyone!

I did not get my run in yesterday due to the rain. :mad::mad: So I did Insanity instead. :eek: I'm going to try to get a run in today even though they are forecasting some more rain. Please keep your fingers crossed. If it rains, I will do something else, but not sure what.

Gayle ~ Snow!!!!:eek::eek: We are in the 80's now and will be in the 70's over the weekend. The lows are suppose to be in the 40's and 50's. I guess I'll have to start wearing long sleeves again. :( I'm looking forward to my race on Saturday as it will be about 55 degrees at race time!

Jane - I hope you get your run in today. Yep, though it has been cooler than normal, snow in October isn't that unusual. Several years ago I actually skied on Halloween! :eek: It was man-made snow, but it was still cold enough on the mountains.

I might pull out my Eion Finn Power Yoga for Happiness tonight. I have chiropractor appointment in the morning and that might loosen me up for my adjustment.

Good Afternoon Chickas!

I did Tari Rose's Hard Body Yoga today for the first time. I don't quite know what to think of this. It's not really a yoga practice but uses yoga poses. More of a strength focused workout. Kind of like yoga with pulses.

Prayers Squats - Chair squats with pulses (3 sets of 5 and 1 slow set of 10 - this is the rep count for every exercise)

Down dog pushups with leg lifts
Warrior lunges (bind for the set of 10)
Side Planks and a slow 10 count negative pushup
Wide leg forward bends
Dolphin pushups with leg lifts (tough!)
Forward Bending Squats
Down dog peels (actually more like up dog peels)
Bridges - both legs, single leg and one leg over knee
Inner thighs - Split legs and come together, then pulsing through legs for abs
Abs - Single leg lower and double leg lower
Abs - In and outs - low, medium and high, lower and hold for 10
Abs - didn't do the last ab exercise - I think it was some kind of reverse pike crunch.

I thought this was going to go on the trade pile but it was somewhat challenging. It's not something I'd go for all the time but might do once in awhile.

Deanie - Hope you're enjoying your rest day. How's DS? Bolero was great. Learned a new combo; reviewed last week. Less people in class so more time to learn everything.

Jane - I will be praying for no rain for you (we've been getting a bunch!) So are you still happy with Insanity? Are they the same intensity as your outdoor workouts?

Deanie, 2 rest days a week is pretty awesome! I always feel like I perform better on 2 rest days than any other work/rest combo, don't know why but I do. If I only get 1 rest day, I look better but I don't feel as good and if I get 3 rest days - blech! I just don't feel anything. 2 days = perfection. How are your boys doing?

Jane, good luck on your race this weekend! 55 degrees sounds warm compared to what we have now; I sat at my son's soccer game yesterday with a coat, blanket, umbrella to block the wind, hat and was still freezing with our barely 40-but-not-quite-there degree weather. :( Cold makes me sad.

Gayle, just reading the title of that yoga practice makes me smile! Eoin Finn is just wonderful: his voice is perfect, his encouragement is perfect - everything. :) But, I do have to ask... you know that girl with the buff bod on the front right of the screen? The one whose thong is always hanging out when she bends over? :eek: For some reason that drives me crazy!!!

Marcy, what is your favorite yoga practice?

This afternoon I did a 3 mile run on the TM at a 3% incline on various speeds. I pumped it out in close to 29 minutes, a really sucky time. :( But it's been a while so I didn't expect to do fabulously anyways.
