Those last 10lbs!

Hi everyone,

I am in reasonably good shape and do mainly the advanced Cathe tapes 6 days a week. I lift reasonably heavy. However, I find myself stalling. I need to lose about 5-10lbs of fat.

I am torn between:

i. Body For Life type workouts (IMAX and Pyramids as substitutes)
ii. P90x;
iii. Circuits /AWT (Cathe and others)
iv. Something else!

I do like the new 4 day split but only working legs once does not really appeal.

I've been working at an advanced level for over a year and not a pound has shifted. I know I need to look at diet but first stop for me is a new exercise programme.

Any tips much appreciated! :) TIA. :7

For me, it is almost 100% about the diet. So that actually would be my first stop. with fat and weight loss, fixing the diet is what it is about.

Hi,

Yeah, I guess you are right. I know this in my heart, but keep wishing someone will tell me to do IMAX 3 and all will be well!:)

Thanks.

Well I exercised constantly in my 30's, but did not clean up the diet, and always was in 14-16's. Now at 46, I cleaned up my diet, still exercise at the same intensity, frequency, all that, and am in 4-6. Diet is where it is at. I was fit back then, just fat.

I agree check the diet.....sucks doesn't it!

Although if your worried about not getting enough leg work, here is my suggestion and what I am doing....I like to get more legwork as well but probably lighter more endurance based than heavy twice in one week

Four Day Split "as is"..

Day One ( Monday )--- HIC plus Chest/Back
Day TWO --- LIC plus Shoulders
Day Three --- Kickbox plus Legs
Day Four --- BCC plus biceps/triceps

Day Five: Alternate between Core Synergists from P90X and Total Body from Barrys BootCamp - just something different

Day Six: Legs of Choice day :) I will probably do Barrys BootCamp legs and butt with the non treadmill cardio because I really think it will nicely compliment this four day split...that or B&G

Day Seven: Rest/Stretch and long walk

Thank you! yes, the food aspect sucks BIG time.

I'm about to leave now but I'm going to take this will me to look at on the train.

Thanks! :)

P90X is an excellent program, but more designed for muscle and strength than for fat loss.

I would recommend 2-3 full-body weight workouts a week, like Muscle Max, along with 1-2 interval cardio workouts per week, and 2-3 steady-state cardio workouts.

Try that for 2-3 weeks and see if it helps.

As others have said, diet is very important: about 80% of the equation for losing fat, IMO.

Thank you! This sounds very interesting indeed. I will take the evening to mull this over. I'll post what I decide.

Thanks for your time, everyone.:D ;-)
