This Is My Destiny!!!

You GO GIRL }(

You are exercising for yourself - that is the way it must be. I can parallel your excitement with this story:

I have been athletic all my life but never did well with endurance, more short bursts of energy. Was overweight in high school and finally dropped 30 lbs when I started working graveyard so it put me at a normal weight.

Fast forward past three children, last one at 31 1/2 yrs old. Still pretty active and dropped my "baby weight" no problem.

Fast forward to working full time and hitting the lovely age of 48 when last summer I hit the most major metabolic changes of my life. Found Cathe :7 on Fit TV one day and after using the Firm for a couple of years. I absolutely thrive on a tough workout and can usually get through them pretty well.

BUT . . . over the past couple of years I felt the "pull" to run, even though I never could before. When I first tried it my legs did not respond very well - knees hurt and one of my hip joints would be too painful to do anything for over a week afterward. Did my Firm tapes and built up my muscles so I could run without any pain afterward. My standard "loop" was 4.5 miles. WELL, after doing Cathe for a while, all of a sudden one day I felt so good I just kept running, you know, Run, Jacque, Run :+

That excited me to no end. Yes, I understand completely. Now as I lurk on the Cheetah checkin posts, I plan to join them one day and am trying to get myself motivated to try a 10K.

Great Job Heather ! ! ! Keep it up for yourself ;)

Thank You!!!

Thank you for celebrating with me! Not everyone in my real life gets this, so it is fun to have a place like this where people will rejoice with me! :)

Melody, thank you. I am praying for you and Wil again tonight.

Adri, my friends tease me about having the gift of words and words and words. ;-)

Janie, you can conquer. Go for it!

Diana, thank you. It is a glorious journey indeed.

Rose, thank you for the affirmation.

Susan, you are so sweet! Thank you for your kind words.

Stephanie, I hope you get out of your funk soon. Just start taking baby steps and keep pressing on! I will keep you in my prayers.

Anne, thanks for believing in me.

Sparrow and Michele, grab a water pistol and storm the gates of hell with me!

Missy, I remind myself that God is able to humble those who walk in pride (Daniel 4:37). I learned that lesson the hard way. I have been through God’s school of pride stripping. It is not a course I wish to repeat, so I humble myself daily!

KC, sometimes I think I should have reached my goal weight before I joined these forums and started posting. But that is nothing more than pride rearing its ugly head. I want to be authentic and transparent. Sharing my successes and my struggles will bless others who are on the same path. I am fully persuaded of that. Thank you for your words. I needed to read what you wrote. Thank you for the prayers too.

Jane, thank you for the reminder to keep this moment close to my heart! I need to remember this the next time insecurities and doubts surface.

Debbie, thank you for the encouragement and blessing!

Kathy, thank you for cheering for me.

Mocha, it is my delight to share my faith!

Kelly, your response made me smile. It is good to meet another non-athlete who loves Cathe!

Kim, your response got me all fired up again! :7

Wendy, you are so right about the mental hurdles being harder to jump over than the physical ones. I returned to cardio boot camp class again tonight. It was easier this time because I knew I could do it!

Nicole, thank you!

Jacque, you will be running with the Cheetahs before you know it! Set a date for that run, and go for it!

Blessings,
Heather B.
