Think I'm in love

... NEVER thought I'd say this, and maybe it's the novelty, but... kettlebells. OH MY!!!! (Sorry - sure don't mean to be an enabler) Wow! I've got the Sarah Lurie DVD - but I need some other recommendations please. Or do you all who use them just do your own routines?

I have the Kettlebell Goddess workout by Andrea Du Cane. There are lots of different mix and match workouts that you can do. It's a very to the point workout. Not fancy and not much music.

My favorite is AOS (Art of Strength) Providence by Anthony DiLugllio. You do 15 - 2 minute rounds of swings, cleans, chest presses, squats/sumo deadlifts, one leg deadlifts, windmills/overhead squats, clean and press, lunges, biceps/triceps, sling shots, seated presses, rows, and abs. It's a no nonsense workout as well but has some music and moves very quickly. You take a 1 minute rest between each round.

Many times I just make up my own doing ladder drills or doing them in a Tabata workout. I also add running workouts as well. There are so many things you can do with kettlebells. I'm glad you're enjoying them.

You know, I haven't pulled mine out in quite a while but it would definitely be a nice change of pace. Tomorrow, Lower Intensity Step is on the agenda so I think I'll try it on my bosu. Thanks.

I am chosing to ignore this thread..x( I really can't spend anymore $$$ right now but it is tempting and I am getting curious. }(

Don't read - don't read - don't read --- close this thread and walk away, because I think I really like these! But for those of you who use them regularly, I'm having difficulty with some of those clean moves where you pull the bell back into the rack position. Today I actually tied my "sweat rags" around my wrists which helped - keep bonking myself. Did you all use the wristbands?

OK, I caved and bought a 15 lb. k'bell plus the Iron Core DVD at Target this morning. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/Sheepish.gif This was completely impulsive -- I hadn't been in any particular rush to get one. But I'm glad to hear your rave reviews, Lorie. And now I get the wrist band thing. Thanks!

when I first read the thread, I thought it was about some fine man. But, Kettebells. Yes, I plan to purchase slanted risers and kettlebells nearer to the release of STS. Preferably, from Cathe's new line.

You took the words right outta my mouth, Lorie!:7

I just a mish mosh of Advanced Step Challenge 2 Circuit 2 (which includes Slo Mo weights) and The Iron Core Way vol. 1. That was my pre-Super Bowl workout! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way Kettlebells work my core - actually my whole body. I really want a heavier one - about 30 pounds - but I'm getting a great workout with 15 pounds. The more I use these, the more I like them. I'm going to have fun creating mish moshes with these - I like to do some cardio, then a kettle bell circuit.

Christine,

That was the deciding factor for me when I tested them in the store this morning. I really felt it in the core with just a few swings. Whoo, that Turkish get-up is something else, isn't it? I just want to do the lie-down and stay down.

Ok, I'm weak, and I went to target and bought the 10 pound kettlebell, as well as Sarah's DVD. Can't wait to preview it later tonight :)

For snatchs, you can use sweatbands or old socks with the toes out to protect your wrists. Also, Lisa Shaffer sells wrist guards on her website (www.nofearfitness.com) for $15.

So I have a $50 Target gift card that's been burning a hole in my pocket since Christmas and thanks to all you enablers }( my curiosity is just bursting!! I think I'm going to cave and buy a kettlebell and a dvd. My question is what is the difference between the Iron Core Vol 1 and Vol 2 dvds?

TIA :)
