Things that I love!!

HOTCHICK

Cathlete
Hi to all cathites,

I thought I thought I would just like to share with you some of the things that I love.(Things that make me excited)

1) JESUS because without him I would not be.

2) Music because it soothes the soul, ( I used to perform in bands).

3) exercise because it de'stresses me, as I am always restless

Things that I am loving now!!

1)A book by Frederic Delavier called Strength Training anatomy.
This book is brilliant, an illustrated guide to muscles at work.

2)Dont laugh!! I know I'm 34 but I have rekindled my love of ballet
through pilates/ballet workouts, which are good for flexibility and elongating muscles, as well as core strength, so right now I am so loving Jennifer Kries, Karen Voight, New york city ballet workout book and dvd,and soon to follow Jessica Sherwood and Melissa Lowe.(My mother never did get round to sending me to ballet classes)

3) Cathe, her strength training workouts are supreme,I discovered her in july 2002 and bought 5 of her dvds, but I confess, I was afraid of her, and continued to do the firm until writing to this forum, you all encouraged me to start with power hour which I did.
so I just wanted to thank you all for 3 days of disability.I am now a believer.

4)Two other books that I also love are Body Fitness for Women,Your Way To Physical Perfection,( my brother says the women in this book look like SHIMS,a female him.
I notice that you all like to talk about your body type,
endomorph ectomorph etc...
5)There is a book that I would recommend which explains this for those who dont know, it is called (Shape Training the 8 week total body makeover). It shows how to train for each body type.

So these are some of the things I love. What things do you love?what excites you?(now now!! dont be dirty) I would be glad to hear.

I LOVE:

Jesus & He loves ME!

My wonderful hubby/best friend of almost 31 years!

My two great loving and caring children, a daughter & a son!

The most precious granddaughter in the world! She really is!!!!

Great, great memories of a very special Mom, Dad & brother who have gone on ahead to Heaven. Miss them sooo much!

A stepdad who loved us 4 kids like his own.

Two fun and loving sisters that even distance can't keep our thoughts and feelings apart.

My in-laws! Believe it or not! They have been parents to me for 31 years & treated me like I was one of their own!

Too many friends to name, but I am blessed with many.

My love of fitness. I cannot begin to tell you the joy/happiness teaching classes has brought to me over the years. I have developed so many friendships thru them. The classes are as much social as physical.

This forum~there is no other forum like it. I truly feel like I have some wonderful friends here, & have actually met a few thru this forum (Hi HB, Murph, Erica, Aimee & Lisa!!http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/wave.gif) I look forward to meeting so many more someday on a roadtrip (or, in my case, a plane ride!)

I LOVE EVERY Cathe video I have and I have them ALL with the exception of a couple of her very first ones that no longer are produced. What can I say?...She's the BEST!

I love the fact that I am healthy and strong and I owe alot of that to Cathe for kicking my fitness level up a few extra notches and I considered myself advanced before Cathe. What a great feeling at 50!

I almost forgot my cat, Chelsea! (she will be 16 this year!)

Okay, have I lost you all??? There is much more like reading, coffee, stamping, choreographing routines, etc, etc. but I'll stop there. Thanks everyone for all your caring and sharing at this great place. (Thanks Hotchick for starting it!:7)

Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/wavey.gif If You Get The Choice To Sit It Out Or Dance...I Hope You DANCE!!!

DebbieH, I just knew it! Jesus loves me, too!

Other things I love...

My husband of almost 12 years who finds my Cathe addiction cute.

My three boys, who ask (when I say, "Clean up your LEGOS!"), "are you doing cardio or strength training?" You see, what I do dictates how much they have to clean since I need more room for cardio!

My family.

My church family...our hearts are truly knit together.

Music, being a part of the worship team (what a blessing!)

Cathe...what else is there to say? Can't wait for my Intensity Series!

Reading (I wish I could for 2 hours a day! Maybe when the boys are bigger...well, they're pretty big, but homeschool takes time!)

Oatmeal and coffee every morning.

That's it for now. What a great thread!

what fun to make up a list!!!:)
family, friends, religion and culture aside, the other things I love in life are:
1. friday evening
2. saturday morning
3. exercising-never felt so much more alive!
4. yoga-it just gets better every time
5. early morning coffee

life is so fast-paced that we hardly ever get time to reflect upon the simple joys of life. This is a cool thread--it was great reading others' responses!!

Early morning bike rides

The farmers market - fresh fruit and fresh vegtables

6:00 am mornings - just me, my coffee and my forum

My childrens sleepy faces as they grope their way to their morning showers

My cats rough tongue on my nose for a kiss

My mom

Myself ( oops I think I am having an Oprah moment )

What an inspiring thread. Makes us realize what's important in life. Sorry to get off track, but I do have a question though about your favorite pilates/ballet tapes. I was fortunate enough to take tap and ballet lessons as a kid, almost wish I could still take classes. Anyway, I have a few Karen Voight workouts and Jennifer Kries' old Precision Toning. Do you have any of Kries' newer ones and what do you think of them? Also, how often do you think you need to do them in order to see results. I was doing KV's Total Body Training a few times a week in addition to Tammilee's I Want Those whatever, but now I'm so busy doing my Cathe strength workouts I'm not sure where to fit the others in. Do you think 1 time each week is enough? I'd really like to know...

Anyway, I love God, my husband, my stepdaughter, my parents, all my family and friends, and the life that I have. What else?

1) The job I had. Wish I had it now. (Was laid off a few months ago.) Ok, I didn't love it, but I love it compared to being out of work.

2) Exercise, especially Cathe's tapes. I'd go insane if I didn't have that "me time" to feel better about myself.

3) Ice cream.

4) Seinfeld. When I need a good laugh, those old reruns always perk me up.

5) Riding on the Harley with my arms wrapped around my husband holding on for dear life.

6) Traveling. Love the food in Italy.

7) Art.

8) Time to sit and read a magazine or book.

9) Being able to sleep in every now and then.

10) This forum. I'm addicted to it. I don't have many close girlfriends that live nearby, so this is the next best thing.

Hi all,

I would just like to say that I enjoyed reading all your threads as it has helped me to gain a little knowledge about you all whilst appreciating our similarities and our differences.

That is what makes us all individual unique and interesting, however I am glad that we are able to relate to each other and support each other concerning our fitness and Cathe workouts.

Hi Mkunkel to answer your questions about jennifer kries vids,
I have altogether five of them, DANCE TO FITNESS, TARGET SPECIFICS, and the three newer ones, 3 DIMENSIONAL TONING, PERFECT MIX, AND PRECISION PILATES.
I love all these workouts as they are a fusion of pilates, ballet and yoga moves. I cant suggest any because I love them all, but if you wanted to get an idea of how they look, then go into (collage.com) for a clip.

In answer to your second question, I know that everyone on this site has their own methods for working out and I respect that,
though I believe that exercise for myself, must be a three fold composition of cardio, strength training, and flexibility training for balance, (a triad if you like) so that is the order that I do it in, or reverse.

so I get in at least two flexibility workouts a week (I use any ballet/pilates type workout for this)to elongate my muscles and give me a lean look, as ballet workouts require you to involve different muscle groups and body parts all at once whilst strength training uses a limited range of muscle groups, (acording to what I have read).
Also I am getting older and can be really stiff and sore after strength work, so five minutes of stretch is not enough for me.

I hope I have answered your question,if not then feel free to ask .

To Debbie H

Debbie H, I just wanted to say that you have got to be one of the sweetest posters on the Cathe Forum and what I think is cool is that if I never meet you on this side of eternity I look forward to meeting you in heaven.......you'll be the one with the sweet smile and eternal biceps!!!!!

Hi Briee!!!

Wow, you made my day!!! :7 I just got here & I am trying to figure out what I am doing. Oh my gosh, I am lost with this new forum. I'm not even sure this is going to post, but I'll give it a try. Thank you so, so much for your kind words. You'll never know how much they mean to me. I do intend to meet you someday, HOPEFULLY this side of eternity! ;-) Do you plan to attend a roadtrip someday? It's my dream to meet you all. (Cathe too!) Until then, I best get busy and start working on my biceps, I guess. Ha! Thank you once again for posting to me. BTW, I just wanted to share a saying on a lil' frig magnet my sis gave me for Christmas. "In my Father's house are many mansions, I hope yours is next to mine!" Isn't that cool? Okay, I'm off to bed. Glad I have tomorrow off. I am going to try to figure out this new stuff.
