The weird Butterfinger recipe

Too funny!! :7 :7 :7

I can just imagine (well, except for the part that I have no idea what you look like ;) ) you pitting all your dates and throwing all the ingredients madly into the processor and then rolling up all those balls! :p :p

Totally a great little snack in times of need.

Thank goodness I bought two bags of dates instead of one.

I did do it with the unsweetened cocoa powder and it was really nice. :9

My 11 year old Faith and I tried them as an after school snack yesterday (and today). They are definitely a hit at our house and bound to be a new favourite. Thanks Mattea for the yummy and healthy idea for a sweet treat:)

Take Care
Laurie:)

You wouldn't believe how many times I've had these suckers for dessert now (I'm even counting them into my meal plan }( )

And when I'm lazy I don't even do the mashing.....I just have half a pitted date with a teaspoon of peanut butter on it...even just that is incredible!

I'm going to be trying out some of your recipes this week as it looks like I have some preparing time to balance out everything tomorrow.

Thanks again! :)

Hi August and everyone else who has been so kind in expressing their enjoyment of this recipe. Yes, August, I used to just have dates spread with pb for dessert, mmmm. I've got a few more "add ins" for you! You can keep the pb in each of these recipes, or swap it for another nut butter, or even for a little soy milk. Keep the oats the same though
1) 1 tsp. plain cocoa powder
dash raspberry extract
chopped cashews
2) 1 tsp. plain cocoa powder
Dried cherries
chopped almonds
almond extract
3) Dried pineapple
dried flaked, unsweetened or lightly sweetened coconut (toasted or not is your option)
chopped walnuts or macadamia nuts
coconut or run extract
4) 2 tsp. cocoa powder
1 tbsp raisins
soynuts or peanuts
5) 1 tsp. chopped crystallized ginger root
raspberry and vanilla extract
1 tsp. cocoa powder

The raspberry one is my current favorite!

I hope you don't mind that I have a file titled "MATTEA'S RECIPES"

I'm going to try some out this week! (I've got steel cut oats soaking in soymilk as I write :p )

Thanks,
August
