"The Wagon" Nightly Check In

So...good evening everyone. How did you all do with eating today? I did pretty well. I am having a bowl of cereal now for dinner, and I plan to close the kitchen after that. When I was at ShopRite today, I totally wanted to buy something "bad," but I resisted. I told myself it wasn't worth the guilt!

RE:

Hi, Gina! Thanks for starting this for us!!! Is this the first official check in for The Wagon??? LOL What an awesome idea! I, for one, will be checking in every single night possible.

DAY 1 for me. I started fresh for a new week, and sometimes somehow it's easier to start fresh from the beginning of a week, isn't it???

First, I am back to my early morning workouts. Got up and did PUB plus a set of 100 push ups on an incline.

Well, I gotta say that day 1 was hard, as it usually is. BUT...I did it. Here is what I ate today:

B: smoothie
S: Kashi Mighty Bites, dry
L: turkey & Cheese salad (dry), a few BLTs (bites, licks and tastes) of my son's soup
S: yogurt
D #1: green salad with Laughing Cow cheese and balsamic vinegar, 5 ff crackers
D #2: Soup at Hand (was in a pinch and didn't have any homemade soup in the fridge), with 5 ff crackers. CLOSED THE KITCHEN AT 7:30!!!

VERY PLEASED with myself. I had a killer headache after working in the yard in the HOT sun for over 3 hours, and I almost caved to the cravings of comfort food, but I won the battle and stayed STRONG!

I can't wait to hear how others did. I'm looking forward to day 2!!!

RE:

stumbles in...(Easter candy consumed in large amounts will cause one to stumble)...hangs head and admits to no exercise and horrible eating. The Wagon is where I belong, however I didn't jump on today. Good for you Gayle and Gina!!! You will be my inspiration for tomorrow.

I keep wanting to run in the morning, but don't and that just sets my day off for trouble. When I exercise first thing, I am better the whole day.

The last time I ran (almost 3 weeks ago), I had a car go really slowly past me (most cars fly by at around 50 mph)and a guy inside was drinking coffee while driving and looked long and hard at me. I looked back and he kept driving, but it creeped me out, since I was alone. It really bums me out, since running is such an easy way to get some cardio in and I feel like I can't do that anymore (I live in the country).

I will do KickMax in the morning and hopefully eat better tomorrow.

BTW this wagon is for anyone who has a habit/tendency/something that they are trying to avoid doing or eating (right?).

Jump aboard the wagon! Plenty of room! (I'll be on tomorrow!)

RE:

Way to go Gayle! Pat yourself on the back! I am impressed by your push ups! I'm still on the bent knee kind.

I too find it easier to start at the beginning of a new week. What are Kashi Mighty Bites? They sound like a good snack!

Talk to you tomorrow...

RE:

Jenn,

The wagon is always here. It is the Hummer of wagons lol. I think it is just about trying to do the best you can and finding support when you didn't or couldn't.

Bummer about the running incident! That would have creeped me out, too. Any indoor tracks around?

Tomorrow will be awesome...and you will tell us all about it lol!

RE:

I stayed on the wagon because I know I have planned a cheat day for later in the week, so that makes it easy.

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Mark Twain ;-)

RE:

Gina-The Mighty Bites are whole-grain cereal made by Kashi, it's actually targetted to kids, but it was on clearance and they are yummy and filling at the same time. I carry little snack bags around everywhere with me, just in case of emergency!

What you said "The wagon is always here. It is the Hummer of wagons lol. I think it is just about trying to do the best you can and finding support when you didn't or couldn't" is AWESOME! Thanks for wording it that way.

Jenn-Oh, that would creep me out too, with that driver. Maybe you can carry mace???

Toasty-once I get a full week "on the wagon" under my belt, I'm going to include one cheat meal or day each week as well. Do you do an entire DAY or just one meal???

See you all later for today's wagon check-in!!!! LOVE THE TITLE!

RE:

Gayle,

It depends. When I am on vacation, it is usually all day cheat. At home, it is usually just one meal. Try to graduate to a once a month treat once you get the once a week going strong. JMHO. Just keep pushing yourself, but HANG ON!!!!! NO MORE FALLING!!!!!!

Charlotte~~

RE:

Thanks, Charlotte. What I had been doing was 1 meal per week and that worked well for me but I was trying to graduate to once a month when I screwed up! LOL. Thanks for the input!
