the perfect snack

I am attempting to clean up my diet, so I just don't buy a lot of junk food to keep around the house. So last night when I was having a serious junk food craving (TTOM), what did I do? Well, I went to the pantry (scan.....scan....not much here.....aha, found something...) I think I'll have some Nesquik....."in milk?", you say...no, no, that would take way too long. Simply open carton, take out spoon, and begin eating. Yes, ladies, I think I've found the perfect answer to the late night munchies....:D

Once upon a time, a very long, long, long, long time ago, I too, would hit the Nesquik powder. I graduated from the spoon to bottle. That's right, Hershey's syrup, straight up. Be careful! I think Nesquik may be a "gateway" snack!

Now that I'm "grown up", if I "do" chocolate, it's got to be Dove Dark Chocolate Promises.

Snack cautiously!

I love the 'gateway snack' comment!! Too funny!:7 :7 :7

Okay, I've never eaten NesQuick straight up, but I do like it mixed with milk. Wasn't that awful dry to swallow??

But I really came here to bond on the Dove chocolates...yeah, it's like heaven in a tin foil wrapper. :9 :D :9

you all need to try the "no pudge" brand of fat free brownie mix. You just add non fat vanilla yogurt and stir, pour in a pan and bake. 30 mins later a great fat free snak! Not exactly clean eating but better then a total pig out! Sold at most food stores.

Hey Terri ~

Thanks for reminding me about "No Pudge" brownies. Can you make them chewy as well as cake-like? I'm a "cake-like" brownie fan!

40something ~

I could really undo all my workout progress w/ Dove Dark chocolates. The upshot is, that I'm really not tempted by any other kind anymore. Only Dove Dark will do! So as long as I don't stock pile the bags I'm safe!

P.S. Have you ever seen any internet coupons for them?!?!? :)

Pam - brush your teeth after dinner! I swear...you won't want to snack!

I remember doing that with chocolate milk mix when I was a kid. Don't laugh when it's in your mouth...that's all I can say.

Hi Kim-Yes you can make them cake like:) Just add 2 more ounces of yogurt then thr box asks for. I use Dannon non fat vanilla single six as it is perfect for the "cake Like" brownies. ENJOY!

Straight powder? Sorry, but -- yuck. I keep dried cranberries in the pantry and they fix the craving quickly - they're sweet and tart, and the bonus is low-cal and nutritious.
How about Ovaltine instead of Nesquick - it at least has some fortification that makes it a little better than Nesquick. I remember LOVING it as a kid (although I haven't had it in decades).

No Nesquick for me. Marshmallow Fluff straight from the jar. No fat, very sweet, a little goes a long way. This is when I'm out of really good dark chocolate. :9

Straight Nesquick powder, eh? That's something I can see myself doing... I also like straight brown sugar (BAD!), but it is a very rare occasion that I do that!

Oh I am ALL about the Dove dark chocolate Promises!!! I keep a bag in my desk drawer at work, on the recommendation of my dietician. They are so heavenly. I just let them melt in my mouth...

Yes, I've been known to get a few licks of brown sugar when the sweet tooth gets going. I'll have to try the Dove chocolate...that sounds good, too. Although, I don't like to have a bunch of chocolate around the house...I think the Nesquik was out of desperation...oh well, it worked.:D
