The Peep of Sunday

Morning all. Whew, this weekend is flying by. Work was busy yesterday. I hope it's a bit slower today.

I managed to do a KB workout yesterday afternoon, between making grape juice for jelly, making dinner, listening to the Penn State game and visiting with my niece. She will be leaving today.:(

I plan on doing something cardio today. I got email notification that Tracey's new workouts shipped. Yahoo! Maybe I'll do one of her step workouts to celebrate. Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning peepers!!

Robin, I hope your day goes by quickly. Good job fitting in the KB w/o amongst all that other stuff!!

I am planning upper body today and maybe some cardio. In-laws are coming over today, so not sure if I'll have time to fit it all in.

Need COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe all the Peeps are resting today!!!! I am

Got home this am from concert last night. Awesome!!!
And I have been "resting" on the couch all day.:eek:
Plan to stay here much of the day. Feels so good.
DH took boys out for the day. Thank you honey

I hope everyone enjoys their day. Wish me luck with Cathe tomorrow

Hey Peeps!

Good "afternoon" to all... (I say that because it has taken this long to post!!!)

Robin: impressive making jelly! I remember when my mom used to can everything when I was a kid... I am embarassed to say that I have never even attempted anything like that! my hats off to you!

Catherine: hopefully you have had your coffee quota and have an enjoyable visit with in-laws!

Ellie: I am so envious of you for getting to go see Cathe tomorrow! but also know that right now I would absolutely DIE trying to keep up with her at this point! Glad you had a good time at your concert! I live in Vegas, but regretfully have only been to one concert in the almost 2 years we have been here... sounds like you are finally feeling better after being sick!

I have no excuse as to why my a$$ has been glued to the couch today! better get busy soon or I will be wearing jammies to work tomorrow! NEED to do a workout today but have NO motivation... I hate what traveling does (provides loads of excuses) to my energy levels! I can't wait for Monday! did I really say that???

Just a quick check-in to say "bye" for a week+. It's 9:30 pm here and I have to get up at 5am to leave. Long day tomorrow, but the ocean awaits on the other end!

Between packing and catching up with DH who has been gone for 8 days, I didn't fit in any leg work today. Will have to wait for that run on the beach!

See you all on the 30th.

Laura

Hello lovely peeps! I hope that your weekend is going well so far. I didn’t have a chance to check-in yesterday. I went shopping and actually found some nice wool sweaters at Old Navy. I only managed to walk out with two of them, but then came home and ordered up 3 more. I also went to Bath and Body Works. I haven’t been there in ages and so I stocked up on hand soap and some home fragrance stuff. Much to DH’s chagrin, the house smells like pumpkin now. Oh well, too bad for him :).

Yesterday and today I went on a 25 mile bike ride. It is so nice here I didn’t want to be stuck inside. I might go for a walk later today but I just might sit around the house and hopefully get inspired to clean.

My latest house project is the master bedroom. It’s so blah, white walls and an ugly brown comforter from grad school. I really want to paint the bedroom a light blue and have a chocolate brown, grey, or black comforter. So, I have been looking, but nothing is jumping out at me.

I made yummy Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal yesterday for breakfast. I really enjoyed it and posted it in the recipe forum.

Robin – I watched the PSU game yesterday and I was so nervous during the 1st half. They didn’t look that great, but thankfully the 2nd half was much better. I’m sorry that your niece’s visit is over. It’s always nice having family visit, but like we’ve also said. It’s kind of nice when your house gets back to normal.

Catherine – I hope that your visit with your in-laws is good. Do you generally get along with them? Your KB training session sounds great, especially the pizza :). Also, I think it’s great that your sister went with you. Is she into fitness too? Sometimes it’s hard to find people with the same interest.

Ellie – Glad to hear you enjoyed the concert and Happy 10th Anniversary. Your DH is awesome taking the kids for the day so you can relax. Also, good luck at Cathe’s class tomorrow. You are going to do fine. Tell us all about it.

Dani – Traveling really does a number on me too. It takes me awhile to get back into the groove. Do you have to travel a lot for work?

Laura – I don’t know if you will see this, but have a great vacation.

Heather – The water workout sounds fantastic. I would love to get back to running too. In 2006 I trained for a 10K and did that and then hurt my knee. I have been doing walk/jog workouts but not sustained running. To be honest, my knee doesn’t feel amazing after the walk/jog so I try not to push too hard into full fledged running. I think when I lose some weight; it might be a little easier for me.

JJ – I had French toast and sausage today. I hope you enjoyed yours yesterday as much as I enjoyed mine. My DH loves breakfast and breakfast food. We usually go out once a month and that was today. Hopefully no more junky breakfasts for me for another month.

Hi all!

Like Karin, I was so busy yesterday I didn't get to post but have not worked out at all this weekend since Houdini is getting up at 6:15AM! I'm going to have to make sure I'm up by 5AM to get premixes in before she gets up, LOL!

Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch and a pumpkin festival. Houdini went on her first hayride, too, and she loved it! We went to the Owens Farms (where Owens sausage was invented) and saw Belgium horses (HUGE!), goats, pigs, etc. It was a beautiful day and she had loads of fun.

This morning was church and a trip to Whole Foods. I loaded up (frozen veggies on sale, etc.) and man!! I spent so much money! But now I'm pretty well stocked so the bill next week *hopefully* won't be so hideous.

This afternoon I made Karin's Smokey Joe recipe (so far, taste test from DH gets a thumbs up!) and I roasted fresh black mission figs and pears for my salad tomorrow (lettuce, roasted figs and pears, goat cheese crumbles, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic dressing.)

OK, confession. I'm going to a concert tonight, but not one I really want to. I have a much younger friend and she loves loves LOVES New Kids On The Block. So I'm going with her. I'm quite certain I will be the oldest person there. Not as fun as Carly Simon would be, that's for sure, so I'm jealous of Ellie for 1) Going to Carly Simon while I'm at NKOTB and 2) Going to Cathe's gym tomorrow!!

Time to run! I'll be back later if I have time before the *big* show. LOL!

:) Wendy

Wendy - Sounds like you have had a busy weekend. I am glad that DH is liking the sloppy joe recipe. I always get nervous recommending recipes to people and hope that they don't think they are horrible . I am LOL about NKOTB. That is too funny. I used to love NKOTB and had the posters and what not on my wall as a kid. I heard that they were on tour again. You know what, I think you will have a good time. Ok, now I have that Right Stuff song in my head along with the dance. I wonder if they still do the dance. You'll have to let us know.

ETA - your salad sounds wonderful. I've never roasted figs or pears before. I'll have to try it.
