"The Kettlebell Weekend Report"

Hi all. DH and I went to Toronto for 2 days. It is always nice to be able to walk around because you CANNOT do it in TX during this time of year.

We walked at least 6 miles on Wed. and Th. We went to Toronto Island and rented one of those touristy quadricycles and rode around. It was fun.

I also went to KM class. Lemme just tell you... that class smoked me. DH didn't work out so it was kind of like I was in a boxing match. When the instructor called for a water break, I would run over to him and he would hand me the bottle of water. I then ran back in. The only thing he didn't do was grease my face up with vaseline.

Melissa- I teach 10th grade inclusion science. This means that I am a special ed teacher in the room with a regular ed teacher. We just help everyone and don't make any differences between the kids.

I am definitely the carefree one. I believe that life is too short to stress over things.

Marcy- Way to go on your Slim Series workouts! I am glad you are enjoying them.

Jane- I will be the watergirl on the team and I will give you gel packs.

Deanie- Sorry about your blister but way to go with SIM. How long of a program is it?

Good Morning!!

Rhonda::: Sounds like you had a wonderful trip to Toronto! LOL out your KM class and how nice of DH to be your "water boy" ;)

Melissa::: My boys (13 & 9) SMELL!!!! They play out side most of the day and when they come in.....WHEW!! I send them straight to the showers before dinner!! My DS13 has not gotten in the habit of putting on deodorant, and DOES NOT CARE!!!:rolleyes: PHEW!! I have no words of advice, just know how you feel. I do send them to the showers alot, sometimes 2X a day. How they could go to bed smelling like that is beyond me. So if I have the energy (to argue) they shower before dinner (no arguement) and then they go out to play after dinner and they smell all over again and I want them to shower again (sometimes arguement) (not from the 9 yr. old though, he just does it) The worst is when its 3 pm and they come in the house with their 4 or 5 friends the same ages!!!!! that's when I send them to the "playroom" and when they leave out comes the Frebreeze!!!!....ps - my DH and I do tell him he smells:eek::eek: but O.M.G- its bad!! LOL

Jane::: Great workouts this week!! no wonder you were tired after 80 laps!! When is the next race you are running?

Today I wanted to work on my deadlifts. Here is my workout:

1X3 @ 165
1X2 @ 175

* new pr of lifting 175# 3X

*planned on swinging Bertha, but the dl's wore me out:confused:

=======================================

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Good Morning!

I was off yesterday. I did Tear It Up yesterday. I skipped the resistance band section but still had a great workout:

1:13:23
Time in zone: 47:36
Avg HR: 126
Max HR: 161
Cals. Burned: 422

Instead of burpees, I did terminator climbers (a la Cathe's Bootcamp). I used 10# for upright rows, bent over rows, chest press, and rotator cuffs (up 2-3#). For W-Press, reverse fly and bice curls (8# - up 1#). For squats, lunges, deadlifts and plie squats, I used 10# (up 2#).

For rear straight arm raises, kickbacks and squats, I used 8# (up 3#). For deadlifts, plie squats and calf raises, I used 10# (up 2# on plie squats and calf raises). For reverse lunges and plie squat to calf raise, I used 8#.

I also did 5 1/2 chinups.

Melissa - I would be the careful planner, but like your DH mine keeps things flexible and spontaneous. He does make being bad more fun and making me feel less guilty.

Deanie - Sorry about your blister. Hope it gets better soon. Great job on the deadlifts!

Farmer - KM class sounds great! Wish I could join you!

I'm off to go preview Insanity and then to a rumba workshop.

Waves to all!

Marcy

Hi Everyone,

Today I did an Insanity workout. It was lots of fun and moved fast.

Rhonda ~ It sounded like you had fun in Toronto! My friend went there a couple of years ago and loved it!

Deanie ~ Great deadlift workout! My next race is a 5K on Labor Day. It's a Red Cross Hurricane Run. We are keeping an eye out for Tropical Storm Ana and Bill out in the Atlantic.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi Everyone,

I'm just sitting down to lunch after doing a 3.5 mile run and doing GS BSB and parts of C&T.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Hi all. I didn't make time to exercise this weekend. Tomorrow is the beginning of the blah, blah, blah week. We have inservice all week and I have ADD so it will be pure torture. I am employed though so I don't want to sound ungrateful.

I am in the middle stages of organizing my closet. It looks like my closet is a volcano that had a major eruption.

I am going back to wade through the lava and also study for my final on Tuesday.

Happy rest of the weekend.

Rhonda
