The Bean

Oh my, did any of you happen to see this lovely gadget before? I was flipping through the channels and saw and informercial for this: www.bean.com. These infomercial just crack me up. You know, I would order this, but more for sacking out in front of the tv or something. Maybe I should buy one to sit in while previewing my Cathe's. Can you imagine how much crap would be in your house if you bought all these gadgets that came out?

That is hilarious! The sad part is that people will actually buy it thinking it might be the magic bullet! ha ha

Speaking of magic bullet, I got the Magic Bullet Blender and it IS magic! Ha! Couldn't resist! I also saw the Bean and thought, OH BOY! Now, if someone here says it's great, then I might reconsider :7

My 6 yr old DS asked for an ab lounger for X-mas! DH and I laughed for a long time when we read it on his list to Santa! He is always running over to it when we are in stores and trying it out. Fortunately, Santa didn't bring it!;-)

Hi Debbie!
Hold on to your receipt cause my Magic Bullet leaked all over the kitchen counter because it seeped down into the motor. Unfortunatly I had tossed my receipt so I couldn't return it. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did though! x(

It's so funny that this is a topic this morning. I was gonna post about this also. I wanted to know if anyone actually preferred to this ball. I slide all over the place on my ball and get frustrated. It is also looked like when they flipped it over it could sub as a bosu. I just don't want to waste my money if this a crock.

I actually have the Bean. It's definitely not a useless gadget like some things (can you say "ab lounge," or even worse, those electric belts?)

The "bean crunch" works the entire ab area very well. And the Bean is nice to have around when you come to a floor ab segment, but want to make it a bit more challenging (but the moves don't translate well to a stability ball). Turned upside down, it's also a great surface to do 'supermans' and other types of back extensions on. Basically, whenever you need a bit more stability than a stability ball offers, but less stability than lying on the floor offers.

That said, I don't use it as often as I planned to, and the kind of felty material on the sides looks nice, but is a real cat-hair magnet (so now I have a fur-covered bean..which actually sounds a bit nasty!)

I think I'll have to make it a point of using my Bean more often.

Well, that is good to know! You have to admit some of these things look a little suspect though. Did you read reviews that made you want to get it?

No, I just saw the infomercial a few times, looked past the hype (I think the new infomercial is a bit more hokey than the original), and thought it looked good for the things I mentioned above.

Not that I NEEDED it, LOL!

I try to steer clear, yes ladies, I have to admit I bought the Pasta Maker/Boiler thingy! Remember that commercial where you put pasta in a tall plastic jar, pour in the water and it supposedly "cooks" your pasta in minutes?:)
Uh, yeah, I bought myself and two of my friends this worthless contraption. EEEKKKx( I am such a sucker for those infomercials, which is why I cannot watch QVC or HSN!! I would have a house filled with all sorts of contraptions!!:)
But it sounds like the Bean might actually be useful.
