Thanks for the potato salad recipe. Now how about pasta salad?

I need to make some salads for my dd's birthday party. The whole family comes over, and that's a big crowd. For the last 3 years I've made potato salad and a really yummy antipasto, but I'd like to live dangerously - and mix things up.

Does anyone have a recipe for a really good pasta salad? It doesn't matter if it's not low-fat, because I consider birthday parties special occassions and diet be damned! Especially since we'll be having burgers and cake. And beer. Don't forget the beer.

My SIL made a wonderful tortellini salad the other day, so something with tortellini would be cool. But I'm not married to that idea.

I'm going to try that potato salad of Debbie's. I usually do the one from Betty Crocker - which is very good too. But I don't want everyone thinking on the way to the party, "oh yes...time for burgers at Donna and Mike's. With some potato salad and antipasto. Wish she'd think of something new!"

This is not a very exciting recipe but everyone loves it when they come to my house!

I take whole wheat pasta and toss it with green pepper, garlic, tomatoes, carrots and lots of balsamic vinger. Make it the day before, mix it twice and then add a little more balsamic (b/c the pasta eats it up) before serving.

I don't have a recipe with amounts b/c I just do it by eye...just make it colorful ;)

Christine :)
