I have made a major accomplishment fitness wise, and I owe it all to you. My whole life I have never really been able to run. When I was in college my doctor told me that I had "exercise induced asthesma" and put me on an inhaler. About 3 years ago I tried to start running with my husband and hated it because I was gasping for air so bad and my chest would get so tight that it just made me miserable.

I started working out with you last August and LOVE your workouts.
Well, this morning I decided to try the running thing again because I hear it's great for toning legs (my trouble spot). I figured I would run 30 seconds and then walk 30 seconds. I got outside and ran a WHOLE MILE without having to stop!!!! Not only that, but I wasn't even that winded. I stopped and walked for a couple minutes and then ran another half mile without stopping. Again, not that winded! All I have to say is THANK YOU! My whole life I have wanted to run, but obviously didn't have the aerobic stamina. Now, thanks to you, I do!!! You have helped me reach so many goals! Thank you!

Congrats Katie! My sister has asthma too. Once while visiting her she wanted to go on a run with me. She was gasping for air too. i felt so bad for her. I couldn't even imagine not being able to run. Hey, you just gave me an idea. I'm going to get her some DVDs for her birthday.

Good for you! Isn't it amazing what her work outs can do for you. She SHOULD get voted #1 personal trainer on Fit TV's web site!!!!:) :) :) :)

Adding my thanks to yours, Katie!

And also a thanks to you for motivation:
I have decided to learn to run because it is a challenge I had never been able to meet. I couldn't run as a child, and tried some last year but just didn't have the lungs.

Tonight I went out for the second time this year. Last time I made a quarter mile. This time I ran/ walked for the first two miles...a quarter mile here, a half there. It was getting kinda dark; had a choice to make: quit, or run it all if I wanted to make three. I thought about your post, and ran that last mile. I'm still hardly believing it!

Thanks!! And great job overcoming that asthma. My DH is asthmatic since birth, and working out has helped her tremendously also.

Thanks ladies for all your encouragment. It's very exciting for me!

Julie, good for you! I did the same thing on my run. I kept saying I was going to stop at a certain point, but when I got there I just kept going. It's an amazing feeling to overcome something like that. I wish you luck in all your future runs!:7
