TGIFriday KETTLEBELL!!!!!!

Good morning!!!!

Hey Melissa!!!!!! I'm glad you stopped in. I just finished reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and enjoyed it very much. :) I hope things are getting less hectic for you. I don't know what's going on with CF 603. I frequent the blog of one of the owners and it appears that maybe there are some changes going on, like they're in a new location or something. I really liked their programming...I'm still bummed. :(

I'm happy to hear you're able to get back into your workouts. :) I totally hear you on the DH thing...gush away. When I spend time with other couples, I really know how fortunate I am. :)

Marcy - What's on tap for today? Bolero class sounds like fun...and I just like word "bolero". :D:p

Rhonda - Did you make it to class?

Jane - That WOD has shades of the "Filthy Fifty" in it...I think I just dry heaved a little thinking about. You are Super Woman!

Waves to Deanie! Did you get a workout in this morning?

Last night I pulled out a CF 603 WOD from few weeks ago:

603 WOD
  • Snatch balance 3×3 - used 35#
  • Heaving snatch balance 3×3 - used 35#
  • OHS 3×3 (from the floor) - 1x3 @ 45#, 2x3 @ 55#
  • Snatch 3×3 - 1x3 @ 35#, 2x3 @ 45# (I really should have kept this at 35#)
I was very comfortable with the first 3 exercises, but putting it all together in the snatch was hard. It feels like there's so much to think about...it needs a lot work.

I'm heading to the gym again tonight...no plan yet.

Have a great day!

Uggggh an off week

I didn't make it to class last night. I swear I feel like a hypochondriac but there was another storm blowing in and it made my face ache and my chest tighten up. I didn't have trouble breathing but I didn't feel well.

To give you an example how weird it was, I looked at the temp in my car (after driving for awhile) and it was 90 degrees. I drove another mile and it dropped down to 72 and it was rainy and windy and black outside. By the time I got home, the storm was over and I felt better. At that point it was too late to go to class.

Clothes are still packed so we'll see.

Melissa- Welcome back! I take digestive enzymes that help with the intolerance. I also eat thin crust which cuts some of the calories.

Gayle- Have a good workout at the gym.

Marcy- I don't have a peak flow meter. It usually only gets bad when the weather transitions. I am trying to do better about being on meds when it does.

Good Afternoon

I was out late last night playing Mahjong, so no workout for me this morning. I slept in!:p Maybe later today I may get some swings in, we'll see....

Melissa!!!!! missed ya! I totally hear you about DH! love mine to pieces and I know how lucky I am:eek: too!! feel free to gush anytime! glad you are back!

Gayle::: great workout last night.

Rhonda:::I hope you are feeling better. What weird weather you have. I forget....where are you???

Jane::: How are you after your workout yesterday???

Marcy::: I like that you picked the bolero class! I also just like saying the name!!LOL

waves to everyone!
TGIF!!

Good Afternoon!

Well, I finally did a kettlebell workout again! I did Amy's Kettlebell Dynamics for the first time. I liked it. Finally, a kettlebell workout with a warmup which was good. There was one move she started in a plank and then you lean back to touch your toe. There are three workouts on the DVD. Here was the workout:

Double Swings
Single Swings
Horn pushups - I had to put the flat part of the bell down; maybe her handles were more square and better able to balance but there was no way I was going to be able to hold on with the horn down.

She did 5 reps of each exercise and did 3 sets. Used 25#.
Cardio: 3 high knees and tap back for 1 minute

Lateral Hop and Overhead Swing - 20#
Open Palm Presses - 20# - 5 each side
3 sets of each
Cardio: Dreya Rolls - 1 minute

Snatch and Descending Press into front squat - 20# - 2 sets on each side
Renegade Rows - 5 each side - 20# - 2 sets on each side
Cardio: Cross Country 4x and jump squat in lunge 2x - 1 minute

Would up being a 30 minute workout with warmup, workout and cooldown.

Then I did the Power Thighs segment from Ult. Adv. Cardio Barre. Still brutal!

2 great workouts in 45 minutes.

Also, yesterday I did a total of 5 1/2 chinups and 2 narrow grip pullups.

Melissa - Nice to see you back! Congrats to your DS on learning to read! I really like Janis Saffell! Loved her CIA 9907. One of my favorite kickboxing workouts. Also like her Dynamic Stretch. I like Petra, really good instructor, nice personality but feel she really gears her workouts towards beginners. I am also incredibly blessed with a great husband. I have Lauren's workout. I forget if she does snatches. It's been awhile since I've done the workout. Here are some of the exercises:
Two Handed Swing, Overhead Swing, Suitcase Deadlift, Squat Thrust, One Arm Clean, Front Squat, High Pull, Catch, and Squat, Russian Twist. I've done both workouts on the DVD and liked them both.

Deanie - Hope you get to swing later!

Rhonda - Hopefully, you'll have a better week next week.

Gayle - Those snatches sound tough! Good job!

Waves hello to Jane!

I hope everyone has agreat weekend!

Marcy

Hi Everyone!

I was at my parent's all day. Dad was an angel for most of the day. He was a little confused right before I left though. I'm happy I could get Mom to take a 2 hour nap this afternoon. I worry sometimes because I don't think she gets enough rest.

That workout yesterday was HARD!!! For some reason I thought it would be easy. I did 50 of the swings, squats and sit ups. Then I started taking the exercises in groupings of 2 and doing 25 reps each. So I did 25 box jumps, 25 jumping pull ups and then repeated. I did the push presses and walking lunges like that and then the Squat Thrusts and Slam Balls. My calves were cramping by the time I got to the jump rope but I did all 150 b/c I wanted to finish. Yikes! Not really puke worthy but close. I think if it was 10 degrees warmer it would have been worse.

I'm getting ready to go outside and do this workout.
