Good Morning!!!

Got to sleep late again today, kids have no school and are coming with me to work today!....better get all this sleep while I can, next week is going to be hectic!!... in a good way!!:):) Still not sure how to get all my weeks worth of workouts in... with my mom and brother staying at the house, I think I may be able to workout on Sat. morning...but don't know if I'll be pushing it... don't want to lose a day, not sure if not taking thursday off and working out then will be okay since I seem to need thursday off....okay, sorry for the rambling, I will probably workout in the am. Saturday, will just wake up early... if this is the only thing I am stressed about, then I guess I'm okay...oh, and by the way... I am getting my "friend" on Wednesday (sorry if thats tmi...) the same day I am picking up my mom from the airport and she'll be here for her visit, and the bar mitzvah!!!!! argh!! okay, moving on.....;)

These weights will start to get heavier and more challenging as we get deeper into the Power to the People program. Remember – do not go to failure on your work sets. Keep your reps pretty. If the 3rd rep is hard, stop there. It’s 3 to 5 reps. You don’t always have to get 5.

 • Run 400M level 8.0

100M = .06 miles
400M = .24 miles

You are allowed no hand switches here. Stick with one hand, and perform all swings and the farmer’s walk. Use the other hand for the next set. Penalty for dropping the KB is 10 burpees. Tough it out (and compare to April 25th).

Cash out TIME: 11:43
no drops, but did switch hands during last set of swings to wipe the sweat off my left hand, then finished with the left, so I did 10 burpees in the end (not included in time)

Marcy:::
Glad you found a "surprise" find in your many dvd workout collection!!:)

Gayle:::
Did you get your yoga in???

waves to Melissa!!
Have a great day and happy weekend!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm trying to ignore the fact that everyone else in my office is feasting on a "free" Chick-fil-A breakfast. :confused: I had some fruit but that's all. I saw those damn cinnamon rolls and got the heck out of there.

I did get a little run in yesterday. It was thundering when I got home so I did a quick kettlebell circuit from NJ CF and then I did 2 laps around the neighborhood before the rain hit.

Today I'm taking a rest day as I am doing a 5K race tomorrow morning. Temps are expected to be in the mid 50's with 10-20mph winds. It will be in the high 60's during the day and sunny.

Deanie ~ Wow...what a great workout today. I'm glad you got to sleep late again. I always try to grab all the sleep I can, when I can. I hope all goes well next week with your mom and brother. I must say, as the elder of this group (I think) that "my friend" doesn't come around very much anymore. It's SO NICE!!!

Gayle ~ Hope you got to do some yoga yesterday.

Marcy ~ I am very happy with Insanity. I would say that they are equal in intensity compared to my outside workouts. It's a bit difficult to compare though as my outside workouts involve kettlebells and other equipment and Insanity is straight cardio. I was actually thinking of designing either a circuit or doing Tabata using kettlebells and the drills that they do in Insanity.

Melissa ~ Cold makes me sad too! It's hard to adjust to it when it's been 90's degrees since April.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!!

TGIF!TGIF!TGIF!TGIF!TGIF!TGIF!TGIF!

Let's just say I ended up with a fairly sh#%%y day yesterday. Nothing earth shattering, but a lot of annoyances that can add up through the course of a day and make you want to inflict bodily harm on people. No yoga. By the time I got home I just poured myself a bath and a couple of stiff drinks...DH knew it was best to steer clear for a few hours.

Anyhoo, today is a new day. My new range is supposed to be delivered this afternoon. :) It's a GE Profile with the double ovens (little one on top and bigger one on the bottom). It's still months away from being hooked up, but it'll be here.

I'm going to try to get some kind of workout in. I'm gonna go peruse NJ CF's site for some inspiration.

Deanie - Deep breaths...deep breaths. I'm sure you'll find a way to get your workouts in...if not, then you'll be getting massive amounts of recuperative rest that'll add 20# to your DL. ;) Is the brother that's staying with you the one who does kettlebells? Has he seen Bertha yet? Can you say CHALLENGE?!?! :D:D:D

Jane - Good luck on your race tomorrow. I hope the wind is at your back! WTG on the cinnamon roll resistance. ;)

Marcy - What's on tap for today? How's the pup doing?

Melissa - LOL about PY4H thong girl! Yes, I love Eion's voice...he just makes me smile too. :) Nice run! I would be ecstatic with a 29:00 time. This is a hard time of year for enjoying cold weather, it's damp, there's no snow to play in, and it's just kind of gray...two words...hot toddies. ;)

Waves to Rhonda!

Have a great day!

Hey guys, this is going to be a hit n' run, sorry. I didn't get a work out in today; I didn't sleep well last night, then I ended up sleeping in and when I got up it was too late to work out because the boys were up. I can't workout this afternoon or evening because I have plans with the H. Planning on doing a weight workout and running with DD tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Hugs,
Melissa

Hi again!!

Jane::: Good For YOU!! I am giving you a cyber ^^^5 for not chowing down on the cinnamon rolls...I think they always smell better than they taste!!:p GOOD LUCK on tomorrows 5K. Let us know how it goes!!

Gayle::: You will love your oven!!! I have the maytag gemini (same oven, different brand) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I don't have a lot of counter space, and the built in toaster oven is great! Also, for holidays having 2 ovens is a life saver and makes my life so much easier:):) Hope you are having a better day today..... and you get a workout or maybe some yoga??? in!! The brother staying with me is not the brother who does kettlebells:(

Melissa::: Have fun with DH tonight!! Have a fun workout tomorrow. You were thinking of deadlifting a while back.... have you put that on the back burner for now?

waves to Marcy!! Hello Hello!!!

have a great weekend gals

Good Afternoon!

Sorry so late but it suddenly got very busy. I did Strong, Free & Happy today from PY4H. I really like this practice. Some funky arm balances. Did Crow and Flying Crow Pose on right side. Also did Firefly Balance (I like this one). I think I attempted One Legged Sage Balance 2. Also did Turtle, Wheel, Royal Dancer, Big Toe Pose, Camel.

Deanie - WTG on the deadlifts!:) Looks like a fun workout.

Jane - Good for you for resisting the cinammon rolls. I, on the other hand, couldn't resist the White Chocolate Mousse cake for our monthly birthday celebration! It was real good! But I was good for the rest of the day. I hope the weather is good for you tomorrow. Good luck on your race!

Gayle - Did you get to do PY4H yesterday? I also love his voice. It's so soothing. Congratulations on your new range! Max is doing great. He's adjusting to us nicely and is getting along much better with me now. He's always glued to my DH. Follows him wherever he goes.

Rhonda - Hope your studying's going well.

Melissa - That's a tough question! I guess my favorite practice is Altar of the Heart with Tilak Pyle. I feel so good when I'm done with that one. PY4H is pretty much tied with AOTH. It's a tough call. I like Mark Blanchard's practices. Very challenging. But hate his personality. Shiva is great for vinyasa. And Jennifer Lynn and Deb Dobbins come in right behind. I never really checked out the girl with the thong in PY4H. I don't usually look at the screen that much unless he's doing a difficult pose.

Hope you have a nice run with DD tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Marcy
