Trish, 2 more weeks!!! It would be so nice to have a date to plan on. I know this baby won't be in here forever, but on nights like this it sure feels like it!:p You'd asked about the flu shot - we've never ever gotten it and we've never gotten the flu. Last year's shot was something like 46% effective - not very good odds anyway! The year my mom GOT the flu shot (a few years back) she GOT the FLU! I'm sure our pharmacist will be for it, but we sure aren't. PLEASE don't construe this as a blast on people who get it - we're just not much in favor of it. :)

Stephanie, I wonder if you're up right now!?:p I hope you're getting a little sleep, or at the very least, keeping rested. Hope the boys have had fun with Grandma and all the yummy treats you bought! I thought of you last night while I was grocery shopping. I bought Pop Tarts for DH for when he's home with me:D. I don't ever buy those things. He was so excited!:eek:

Well, I'm just working thru my nightly bout of insomnia. I've been up since 3. I can usually conk out again around 5.:mad:

Workout will be UB weights - not sure what. And prob. not til after DDs go to bed tonight unless I can sneak it in while Isabel naps...

Kate~add me to the insomnia group.. I was so uncomfy last night. I was on the couch for an hour. then to bed then back out to the couch. I can see the finish line though so I can do this..lol I hear so many people say they get the flu the year the get the shot, but we've done it for 3 years and never gotten the flu. Just wondering if it's because it's working or just because we are healthy and don't get the flu..lol WE've always has the actual shot though and not the nose mist. I have heard the nost mist is the one that has some live flu in it and the actual needle shot is the dead virus.. not sure if that is true.

Good luck getting your w/out in! I plan to get the kids off to school and lounge around w/ Landon today. Maybe try to get tot he grocery store. That will be my w/out. Grocery max. : )

The flu vaccine in the shot is a dead virus and you cannot get the flu from it. The nose mist is a live virus and my dh got very sick from it. I get the flu shot every year.

Sorry you guys cant sleep. Same here last night. It was storming and the weather radio kept going off, and it was thundering SO loud! Of course Haley slept right through it. I am tired today!

My pms is very different this month. By this point my breasts are usually extremely sore and so far nothing! I have had a little cramp here and there but thats about it. Maybe Im starting menopause:eek:

Class today then to the bookfair with DD.

Oh..Friday is Haley's rodeo at school. They are having a pioneer meal of beans and cornbread. I am to bring beans. Any ideas on how to dr up a pinto bean that kids will eat???
 
Hi! I actually slept well lastnight (go figure)...I guess it was because I knew there was an end in sight. But, get this, lastnight at Target my mom had to push me in a wheelchair! :(My back hurt SO darn bad that I couldn't stand!!! I am READY for this baby to come out! I do have belly pictures to post when I am home (I'll post them along with baby pictures), but NOT post-baby belly pictures:eek:.

I can't eat anything today (since lastnight). I was going to get up at 3am to eat, but I slept right through! At least everyone is still sleeping, and that NEVER happens. So, at least I don't have to smell breakfast food!

Thanks Kate for the post-I had tears in my eyes to know that there are so many caring people here! Any more sign of losing the m plug? I was 10 days early with DS#1, so I went through my water breaking, m plug, etc. This time, nothing. And, I am technically 4 days away from actual DD.
Trish and Candra-it won't be long now!!!

Stephanie-I can't wait to see pictures. I am sure you are super busy!!!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday I did Imax3 w/3 risers plus my 2lb hand weights!! Yes, I'm very proud of myself!!! Hee Hee. I know Cathe gave 2 thumbs down on the hand weights w/step but my arms have never been so tone....and I don't care for weight training,so....I'm a bad girl. :confused::confused:

Concerning the flu shot. The flu shot is for influenza (not stomach flu). I hear that all the time---so I thought I'd just get that out of the way. So many people say, "I got the flu shot, and I still got the flu---diarreha & vomiting for days". Secondly, the flu shot is not 100%, but it's the best fight we have against it. Do you remember reading about the flu epidemic in the early
1900s? It killed over 50 MILLION people!...and our population is alot higher now. So, for $25/each and a little bit of pain, I'd like to know that I did the best I could to prevent influenza infection to me and my wee-ones.

All you pg women out there, your newest editions will not be able to get the vaccine---so I encourage you and your family members to get the shot---to help protect your weeones. Okay, so how many of you can I put on my shot list for tomorrow?!?!??! :p:p

Busy day today. Bible Study this AM, Jory's follow up dr appt at 2, ECFE meeting at 3, and football game (yes, the diehard is going to play football with a broken thumb) at 5pm. I"m hoping DH will take Jory to dr so I might be able to squeeze in a short run or something.

Better get going---I only finished 4 of the 5 lessons for Bible Study---I hope I don't get kicked out. :eek::eek:

Sorry for all the restless women in here. I slept like a log, as usual (sorry...lol). I didnt get to bed until 1130pm, which is like 90 min later than i should have gone to bed.
After work i did my workout, a new one called Jump Force that i hadnt tried yet, then after my shower and a quick dinner of eggs i started packing for my trip to CT.
I am bringing my dog and i borrowed a dog carry on and she freaked out when i put her in there :( Since i got it yesterday from my dad, and im leaving tomorrow, we dont have much time. i'm really nervous about her flying and hope she doesnt freak out and cry etc.
Anyone ever travel with a small dog on an airline before? She'd be ok in my lap but i dont think they allow that. STupid RULES!

So..today will be my last posting on the check in until i return on sunday. I cant wait to see my mom and also see what goodies wait for me :)

Im at work, i was swamped yesterday and most likely today will be similar since i'm alone again ... only 8 hrs to go til i can get outta here and go home!!!!
 
Have a fun and safe trip, Jessica. We'll miss you here on the forum. Have you considered getting a prescription from the vet to calm your dog down? Valium is used all the time for traveling pets, to calm them down (now I really sound like a pill pusher). ;)

i dont know about everyone else but im still pregnant and not delivering!
i think your above post about travel was meant for me (jennifer, not jessica lol)
i dont have a vet for my little furball, i need one. i had her vaccinated recently at a low cost vet service that came to the pet store. so...i leave early tomorrow and dont have acces to any meds. i've read that its bad to drug a dog as it may cause respiratory problems while flying (due to air pressure etc).
i just hope she does ok knowing im right next to her. wish me luck!
i'll miss you guys too! I'll report back on any great goodies i et. Maybe by the time i return we will have some new babies around here!

Melanie~that is what I was thinking.. better to keep the baby safe. I knew about the flu not being the stomach thing. I am always a tad to the paranoid side..lol We get the flu shot for free so I think I am leaning towad getting it.. do you know if warmer areas still see the same outbreak as other locations? We are in Louisiana now and it's still in the 90s here... ugh Hardly seems like there will be a sick/flu season w/ this weather.

Concerning the influenza in warmer clients---I don't think anyone is immune. LOL No pun intended. Many people opt not to immunize, if eveyone did...we wouldn't have enough vaccine to go around. :)

DH went fishing, so I'm taking Jory to the dr. Wish me luck, both my little ones are crabby & need a nap. :eek::eek:
