Tell me I'm not a complete idiot!

Hi! I just have to share this because I feel so STUPID right now! I teach French, and one of my very motivated older students loaned me the "learn French on your own" system that he just bought. I was watching the DVDs on my computer to see if there is anything I could use in my own class, and because I am such a clutz, I dropped one. It bounced around and fell behind the file cabinet, lodged between the wall and the molding. Uhhhh! It took forever to retrieve the &%$# thing, and in the process I scratched it up so bad!

So, of course I have to buy a replacement. I just called the company and luckily for me they do sell replacement DVDs. For $55! I already bought it, and boy do I feel stupid! Goodbye $55! Yay for me!

Amy...you need to remember one key thing.....Sh!T happens. As Snoopy says, have a cookie. It will make you feel better ;)

Thanks Beavs. It turns out DH bought some Oreo Fudgies, which happen to be "accidentally vegan". I usually avoid them, but I think I may need one.

That sounds like a great album title "The the Attack of the Accidentally Vegan Oreos" :p

What's the company???? I mean, the one that makes the language CDs

LOL, I was about to present to you the obscure "Oreo/Nabisco" company! It's called "French In Action" produced by Annenberg Media. It looks like a solid system. The DVDs are super 80s though, so I don't think I can show it in the class. The younger students will be too distracted by how high everyone's jeans are.

Oh, if it was Rosetta Stone, I could get you the whole set for $25.00. I have a friend who works for them, and she could get them for me. Would have loved to have helped!

Hey, would you like to get him an entire set of Rosetta Stone to replace the 80s CD???

OMG TeTe, that's amazing! If it's not too much of a huge pain, I'd love to buy AT LEAST one set of Rosetta Stone for that price.

Amy

I shouldn't be surprised how amazingly supportive everyone is on this forum. You all rock!!! :D

Of COURSE you're not an idiot! Now can I please have a cookie!?

That is a drag though -- geez! {{{{{AMY}}}}}

LOL, I think I've WATCHED those French In Action videos, back when I was a French major in college!

Don't sweat it Amy, stuff like this happens all the time.

An example: I was driving my DH's car, a Honda, and while parking it I lightly tapped a barrier with the front bumper. The "H" logo fell off. I brought it home, apologizing to my DH. He went to glue it back on, centered it, and walked away, not realizing that the glue had not yet dried. D'oh!! The H slid down, and then of course dried in that position. By the time we noticed it, the glue was solid. So DH's Honda logo is all askew on the front of his car. Looks pretty silly, but it does make it a bit easier to find his car in a parking lot now!!

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I just hate it when I do stupid stuff like this. Everyone does right? But it could be much worse right? Jodi, I love your story about the askew "H"! Anyone else want to share their "I'm an idiot" stories? I think I'd love to hear them! :)

How super nice and responsible of you to buy a new one, . . . some people would just buy a $10 scratch repair kit and put it back in the box and pretend nothing happened.
