Teaching low impact, question???

Good morning everybody:

It's FINALLY sunny here in Minnesota. YIPPEE..... :)

Anyway my question is..... I will be teaching a low impact aerobics class this fall. I have been teaching step aerobics for a couple of years and love it, but now that I'm venturing out to another kind of teaching in aerobics I'm not sure of the beats per minute that I will need for my class? Is it the same beat as step? Or, can I go to the faster beat (140) and be OK? Just checking, thanks.

It this a beginner, intermediate, or advanced class?

If I were you I'd start with a slower bpm and get a feel for how the class handles that. If the class doesn't seem challenged, change up the routine to make it more interesting or increase the bpm. Since it is a low impact class you don't want to increase the bpm too much.
