take 2 weeks off? should I?

I work out hard with Cathe 5 days a week. I'm feeling a little burnt out and was thinking about taking two weeks off of working out. I also need to lose a couple (only 3 or so lbs), so during my time off I was planning to really attempt to get my eating in order. Then I'll come back strong with a new rotation that incorporates one total body weight day, 4-5 cardios, and a longer upper body and lower body workout like the pyramids or PS. And 4 or so days of abs.

Do you think it is ok to take two weeks off? Has anyone else tried this? Will I lose any definition or could eating better give me more definition? What do you think?

Thanks for your input,

Just take off as much time as you need until you don't feel "burned out" anymore. Then, you get so excited to work out again it makes it a lot more fun. It may not take 2 whole weeks to get there. I've taken 2 weeks off of Cathe before (although doing some walking and yoga and abs) and it didn't decrease my fitness at all. I came back feeling really strong and motivated and great. Can't really advise you on diet-I eat for strength and energy and don't care so much about losing weight.

I agree. You won't lose a thing. If your body is telling you you need some time off, then I would take it. Even Cathe herself has posted here before that she often takes time off when she feels she needs to.
