Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone has tried these videos and if so are they worth my money.
I have Vol 1-6 and I like them but after a while it seems like his videos are so repetitious so wondering if I should order these or hold out for something better.
thank You,
Marisol

TaeBo

Marisol,
I use TaeBo as my primary form of cardio because it has really improved my legs, rear and abs, so I enjoy having all the tapes (through #9). I used a heart rate monitor when I did each of the tapes - some are harder cardio-wise, others have more kicks or abs, etc. I pick a tape according to my mood and energy level, and don't like to repeat too often. My advice is if you do TaeBo only once in awhile, I'd say six are enough; if you're like me and do several a week, you might like the diversity of more choices!

I have them all

I have all of the tapes you mentioned. I started doing Taebo before I found Cathe. I just did tape 9 yesterday even though I've had it for a month. I must say that going back to Taebo after Cathe was a disappointment. Billy's tapes aren't nearly as professional as Cathe's. The workouts are pretty good if you enjoy Taebo and Billy's constant babbling on the tape. I mute him most of the time. I just get so sick of the rambling on and on. Plus, he doesn't do have the workout with you because he is too busy talking. However, I think it is good to do different types of workouts. I think Cathe's tapes are a much better buy. She has a new cardio kicks tape out. Perhaps try it. So, I guess in answer to your question...tapes 7,8, and 9 are typical of Billy's tapes. If you like him, you will enjoy these workouts. I have cancelled my monthly deliveries.

Taebo Rules

I have enjoyed Taebo for over a year now and have not yet got bored. He has a great varity of tapes that work all areas of the body. I haven't look and felt this good in years. Regarding the babbling; It's called encouragement, something that you might have heard of that helps committed individuals reach their goals. Tapes like Cathe's, seem to be a spin-of of Billy Banks, they try to mimic Taebo but they are far from gaining the results your body needs to look good and feel healthy. Good luck achieving your want to be workout results. Sorry you cancelled the best thing that could have happened to you.

Not a Spin-off

I love taebo too, but every instructor has a different style and adds their flavor to an exercise routine. I also have a variety of hi/lo and each instructor delivers it a little different. I love all my kickbox tapes from taebo to Cathe and all the rest in-between!

Variety

I have Tae Bo's 3, 4 and 6 and love them, but I probably won't be getting more because I don't feel they are dramatically different from each other. Also, since I love kickboxing in general, I like to try different instructors. My other kickboxing tapes which I love are CIAs - 9809, 9907, 2K03 and I have one from Todd Gheisar coming in the mail. If you are bored, you probably just need to try some new instructors.

Taebo

Yes. I have heard of encouragement. I feel that Cathe does a great job of encouraging without a lecture. I did taebo for over a year. It helped me get started working out but I feel that I need to move on. Taebo is a good workout but variety is the spice of life. I just wasn't getting the results I wanted with Taebo anymore. I don't feel that Cathe has done any kind of spin off. Cardio kickboxing was around before Taebo. I had classes at my local gym before Taebo was popular. It is a wonderful workout no matter what you call it. Billy is most likely a good person but I was just bored with his tapes. I have 9 taebo tapes to mix into my workouts and I feel that is enough.

One question

Thank you ladies,
I do have a ? you mentioned CIA I've heard about them but am afraid to purchase anything from them because of past fears(you know the one where you hear or read that it's a high intensity workout and when you get it home you barely break a sweat). How challenging are these workouts if you had to compare are they somewhere close to Cathe or Kathy Smith(I prefer more like Cathe)I need a challenge and Cathe's tapes offer that(LOVE CARDIOKICKS)but I just wanted to add more kickboxing any input would help.
Thank You,
Marisol

CIA videos

CIA videos are made by one production company, and all are longer than the average tape. However, as with anything else, the instructors vary. It has been my experience that you definitely won't have any easier than a Kathy Smith, but some won't be as challenging as Cathe F. You know, Collage Vidoe, which is one marketing venue for these tapes, has a "rate the instructor" page on its website. You may want to check that out. www.collagevideo.com

Bad day?

Geez, I usually find all kinds of encouragement in the posts I read here. However, Stella, you seem bitter because someone disagrees with your opinion of Taebo. Different strokes for different folks, eh?
