Symptons of overtraining

Hi everyone. Just looking for some input here. I don't know if I am overtraining or just burned out right now. I've been doing a circuit rotation for the past few weeks but as of Saturday, I haven't felt like working out at all.

Yesterday morning I got changed into my workout clothes, did maybe 30 seconds of PUB warm-up and just knew I wasn't into it. Usually Cathe's voice alone is motivating to me but I just couldn't bring myself to workout.

I'm thinking I need a week off and just really concentrate on my calorie intake and getting enough sleep and water.

What do you guys think, overtraining or just need a break?

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Thanks in advance!

Melissa

>>>>>>Overtraining is specific to the individual exerciser, and your body will tell you it's getting too much physical activity by prolonged feelings of fatigue, worsened sleep patterns, lack of enthusiasm for your exercise sessions, weird appetite (often depressed appetite), feelings of overall irritability, and other symptoms.

This came off another post... if these dont really fit what you are feeling maybe you need a couple days of rest and some less intense w/os.... I do a full 6 day rotation of tjam and Kathy Smith every 6 weeks or so just to give my body a bit of a rest.

Hi Melissa,

Maybe you just need a break from what your doing. Take a few days off and then try doing something completely different...maybe something outdoors or in an environment that's completely different from your regular workout environment.

I find that I get burned out on a particular instructor from time to time. That creates a good excuse to buy more workout DVD's. ;-)
