Surgery for torn labrum - any experience?

So, I'm getting scheduled for an MRI and my PT thinks it's quite possible there is a tear in the shoulder, thus surgery. I've done some research but wondered if anyone here has personal knowledge.

as a physical therapist, a torn labrum is no joke. recovery from this surgery is a slow process but PLEASE follow the protocol from the doctor and your therapist. there will be a lot of weight lifting restrictions you will need to follow. If you follow everything to a "T" you will recover fully and be back to working out soon enough. good luck!

Thanks for the input - especially from a PT. This started in September and isn't gone. I've done the exercises, ice, heat, and a cortizone shot last week. My shoulder is so loose that w/ that - and my lack of recovery w/ conservative treatments - he's thinking that's the problem. And I really don't remember THIS much clicking/popping before "the day." The trick - my 3rd child is 18 months old, 30 pounds, and my husband currently lives five hours away. I've been dying to do STS again - especially w/ Cardio coming out - but feel like I'm one workout away from being back on vicodin. Sooooo frustrated!
