Summer Blast check in - week of 8/30 to 9/5

Good Morning everyone,

I'm officially back at work and man, let me tell you it's been tough trying to get up early to workout before work. I haven't had to wake up at 5 am for about 2 months now. I know I'll eventually adjust but for the past few days I thought I would die when the alarm sounded.

This morning was CIA 2202 with Franny All Out Step. At one point I felt like I wasn't going to make it through because I was really tired. I made a deal with myself to pause to take a quick breather and then to go on 5 more minutes. If I was still tired, I could call it done and move on to breakfast etc. Well, I made it all the way to end and feel really good.

Here's what I think will be the rest of my week
Tu- S & H Legs and Shoulders
W- floor cardio
Th- S & H Chest and Back
F- step or interval cardio
S- S & H Bis and Tris
Su- yoga

I'd like to throw in at least one more yoga workout in the evening some time this week. I don't understand myself sometimes. I love how I feel after yoga and it's the first thing to fall by the wayside when I'm tired or don't have time.

We'll have to think about changing the name of the check in in the next few weeks as summer is just about done!

Big hellos to everyone!

Hi Sabine;
Yup getting up early is tuff tuff tuff esp not having to after awhile.
It's been a month since we starting heading out the door at 7 in the morning and it really has helped me get motivated to workout hard and good.
Here's hoping others will pipe in.
My weekly rotation is the 1st week of the Aug rotation.
Did Legs and Glutes along with intervals 1-5 from IMAX 2 this am.
I'm thinking I'll be adding a bit more cardio and I do plan on using my yoga tape in the evenings but by 7 pm I'm ready for bed. I'll see how I can fit it into my plan here.
Hellos to everyone else. :)

Yeah, I usedto do the early am workouts, but now that I don't have to, I don't. The earliest that I have been working out is 9:30.
You guys won't believe this one. I'm soo happy for myself! I ran 5 miles on Friday in 55 min. I was tired at the end, realy tired, but I did it. That is one nice thing about running outside, is that once you get to where you wanted to go, for me it was a road that i knew marked 2 and a half miles. You know that you have no choice but to keep on going to get back to where you started. Plus for me I had to go pick my son up from preschool soon and I thought it was taking me longer than it was so I was running pretty fast towards the end thinking that I was running late. Turned out that I wasn't, but it was a good motivator!
Anyway, this week my son is out of school for a short break, so I won't be running. But I'll be doing plenty of Cathe, you can count of that!
Have a great week!

Kathy

Hi everyone, my workouts have gone as follows:
SUN - Step Blast combos 1-3 (first 35 min) + second segment of Power Max + SJP and KPC abs
MON - CTX-UB split + All Step ABS
TUE - CTX All Step + CTX Step & Intervals + S&H abs
WED - L&G ankle weight premix (first time was without weight as warm-up; second round was with 5-lb. weights)
THU - P90x Chest and Back + PH abs
FRI - P90x Stretch
SUN - P90x Shoulders and Arms + ME abs, KPC abs and P90x Ab Ripper

Today I'm thinking of trying P90x Legs and Back MINUS the Back portion since I want to try Back and Biceps and CST later in the week.

Sabine, we're the same. I love the way yoga makes me feel afterwards but it's the first to go when I'm pressed for time.

Shywolf, I hope your recovery is complete by now. I'm trying to change my workout hours from late morning to early morning before breakfast, but it has been impossible. Since my boy started Montessori, he gets out much earlier in the day and I have less time for myself, so early morning would be perfect. It's tough for me to do weight work so early in the morning with hardly anything in my system. Cardio would be easier, but still...:(

Kathy, great run! I do most of my running chasing my boy around.:)

Have a great week everybody,
Pinky

Hey everyone,

I know I haven't been here recently. Things have been crazy for me at work. I haven't felt great this week, so I haven't worked out much.

Pinky, I asked you in a post a while back, when I think you weren't checking in much, asking if you had gotten P90X. I guess you did! How long have you had it, and how do you like it?

Vilma, I hope that you weren't very much affected by Gaston, and I hope that Francis misses you.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Talk to you soon!

Hi Lisa , well we gots tons of rain, some flooding but nothing to write home about ...now this new one we are keeping watch on.

Hi everyone! I've had time to read what everyone is up to but I just haven't had time/taken the time to post. Oh well.

We started school (home-school) last week so my workout schedule is not as open as it was this summer. I'm not a morning exerciser, so it's late afternoon or after the kids go to bed. DH and I are still cycling regularly, but now that the days are getting shorter I only ride outdoors on the weekend. Spinervals and Cathe still fill in the rest of the week, although the past two weeks I've been lucky to fit in 4 workout days...hopefully as school gets rolling it'll be back up to 5 or 6 days per week. For weights I'm *trying* to follow the M&F Hers rotation that I was doing when we were a bikini check-in:) ...last week was circuit and this week is heavy, but reality is I'm just hoping to hit ub twice and lb once a week.

Glad everyone is safe in the midst of the storms.

Pinky, I read your post on the PX90...sounds awesome...let us know what your faves are.

Hi to all...hope to see more people posting!!

God bless you all,
CinDee
