suggestions on sites to download music

I am a little behind the times, but I am looking for a good site that I can download/burn music to make CDs. I am sick of buying a whole CD just for one song, and then not liking the rest of the CD. I do not have an Ipod yet, but I can feel that it's coming soon. So, the site would have to offer both options (download to an Ipod and burn to a CD). I was online lastnight checking out reviews, but they all seem a little shady (not letting me know how much it will be to actually download a song once I pay for the membership). I would really appreciate if anyone here can recommend a good site, and if you could give me a ballpark figure on cost too. Thanks in advance!

iTunes. It's 99 cents a song and usually around $9.99 for the whole CD's worth of songs. And there's no membership fee. It's free to download.

You can download songs into your library and then you can put them on CD or onto your MP3 player.

I second the recommendation for iTunes. It's really easy to use and you will want an Ipod. I just love mine.

I third ITunes...it's easy and free to download the software and simple to use. I don't know what I ever did without my IPod.

Well I have to break from the "Apple is great crowd".

Walmart.com 88 cents per download, you have 90 days to download again and again (same computer). They come as MP3s which mean you need no special software clogging up your computer. There's deals on CD downloads as well.

Have fun!

Thanks so much for your recommendations. People at work suggested Limewire, but then others said it could wreck the computer??? I will check out walmart and itunes right now!

Itunes if you have an ipod. Walmart if you have some other brand of player. No fees other than 99 cents per song on Itunes and 89 cents per song on Walmart.
