suggestions for winter skin care

Hello everyone! Can you please suggest some good/effective/inexpensive line of winter skin care creams/lotions/cleansers? (mainly facial care). For those living in colder areas, how do you change up your skin care to adjust to the change in temperature?

I tend to really neglect my skin in the winter and get dry, red patches on my face. Also, a good eye cream for fine lines and wrinkles that is fairly inexpensive but effective. Any suggestions please!

Thank you,

Natasha

Hi Mini-Natty,

I tend to have very dry skin - so much that I cannot use certain products come the fall until late spring. That said, I've added something to my daily regime in the last 6 weeks that seems to have affected my skin greatly - Silica Gel. I buy BioSil (brand recommended at supplement store). 5 small drops in the morning (with a drink 'cos tastes awful) and 5 drops near day's end. My skin is no longer dry at all. In fact, it feels very moisturized. I've never experienced this before. I bought this for my hair but have noticed that I no longer have a puffiness under my eyes in the morning and my skin looks a bit plumper. It's supposed to help you rebuild your own collagen (great side affect). Google benefits of silica gel and see if this might be for you. No need to change your cream - just add this. It's supposed to be great for your joints and helping remove toxins from the body??? I don't know. Check it out anyway if you have a chance. I'm a believer.

$39.99 for a three month supply. Guy in store said the body absorbs better the drops (instead of the kind you ingest but tastes less awful). I noticed a difference in my skin right away when I changed to drops.

Bought the product 'cos my hair began thinning from stress from juggling master's program with family, job, research, practicum etc the last two years. A hair clinic suggested I add silica gel to my regime to try to grow my hair back (thinning under temples and at bang area). Anyway, silica gel plus everything else I have been doing has resulted in my hair growing back quite quickly (Tanks Gott). But when I changed the silica gel to the drops - that's when I noticed a big difference in my skin. I keep telling everyone to "watch this face. It's getting younger". I don't mention the hair issue LOL.

Google it to see if it's for you.
