Cathlete
To Cathe or those who may be involved in creating workouts:
I would like to suggest something new to add to your amazing DVD Collection! I love Muscle Max and Gym Style Series, but often I am left with only enough time to do premixes with my schedule.
My suggestion is: Have a Series of DVDs (Strength, Cardio, Circuits) that are all 30 to 40 minutes MAX from Warm up to Cool Down! There can be slipts like in Gym Style (my favorite) as well as total body, using weights, bands, and body weights...LOTS of floorwork like the floor work segments in Butts n Guts!
I love the premixes on so many of the DVDs but I often feel cheated or like I haven't given my all simply because I could not devote 45 to 90 minutes to do 1 workout. When I do premixes, there can sometimes not be enough to switch weights or I you are not able to hit all the muscle groups equally depending on the DVD and premixes offered.
While I am not a Mom yet, I do know what it's like to have a full schedule; I can only imagine how that will change with a baby or 3. Many other instructors like Kelly Coffee-Mayer, Tracey Staehle, ect do this, but I find that you (Cathe) is just so much more motivating and a true challenge! Your form is impecable and I feel safe doing the exercises knowing I am following a true expert. I also know that you workout just as hard if not more so judging by the weights and the high impact movements that you do. If we were able to have the wonderful benefits of Cathe and her DVDs just on shorter, full length, non-premix DVDs, that would be simply amazing! I would purchase ALL of them on Pre-sale immediately! You could call this Series "Short and Sweet" or "short and deadly"
*** Also another suggestion...is it possible to have one of your backround exercisers show modifactions for lunges, squats, ect. I myself and many others have knee/hip issues and having some instruction as to what a modification FEELS like. I know what they look like, but I find it hard to get the benefits of traditional lunges and squats doing a modified version. Perhaps you or your crew could show and explain how to get the most out of the modifications. I would love to do the "full" range of motion, but Doc says "no". I would love it and my Butt needs the extra work!
