Success using Beginner Rotation

I am nearing the end of my second round of the beginner rotation. I completed the first round as Cathe suggested, and then I started it over substituting different workouts (e.g. Cardio & Weights instead of Body Fusion, Low Max premixes instead of Low Impact Step, Supersets or Push & Pull instead of Total Body Scupting). In addition to this, I also walk my dogs at least 30-45 minutes a day six days a week. So far, I have lost 16 pounds and several inches (it's been a while since I measured, but my jeans and workout pants are definitely fitting looser and I had to buy a smaller belt). I am fairly strict with what I eat during the week, but my diet is a disaster on the weekends (I really need to do something about that). I am much stronger, and because I carry most of my weight in my lower body, I can really see the muscles I've developed in my upper body. My endurance has increased enough that I've even started jogging with the dogs in the morning. Plus, I just feel so good knowing that I'm finally taking care of my body the way that I should. Go for it! You have nothing to lose except the weight and there are so many mental and physical benefits to working out with Cathe!

Yes,In the first 3weeks I lost and inch in each thigh and 1/4 in hips! I loved doing it but had to delay it in the 8th week(im in now)because of blisters on my heals! I love it,I do find myself falling asleep in basic steps first combo(still do it though)! body fusion and low impact step are really fun! I've also lost about 12pds since starting the rotation(that and weight watchers;-)!)

Go for it!
Take care!

I did at first because the workouts I was use to was a little less intense as Cathe! Basic step was a little challenging at first(I remember the first time I did it,the last combo almost left me passed out on the floor)lol! And it took me a couple of times to get body fusion, and I almost have low impact step mastered(those intensity drills kill ya) but I found the more I did all of them, the more I could do,and the easier they got!

Hopes this helps
take care!

Your Welcome!
I've been working out for about 2yrs now, so I'm by far not an expert like some of the wonderful ladies on here, but I'm glad I can helped!

Thanks Beavs and TATA2GOOD!

When I started the Beginner Rotation, I had been walking the dogs regularly for two years and I was doing some of the All-Star Workouts on FitTV, so I thought I was in pretty decent shape. I lurked on these message boards for a while before I bought the step, so I knew that Cathe was an advanced exerciser. Even with all of that, I was blown away that Basic Step was considered beginner level. I was able to keep up and finish it, but only with several water breaks in between! However, more than Basic Step, the Upper and Lower Body Weight Add-Ons were what really humbled me. I found out quickly that I wasn't as strong as I thought. I had to take all sorts of breaks to let the fire dissipate. However, I was stubborn enough to pause and rewind until I had completed every repetition that Cathe and crew did (I think those 20 minute workouts probably took me more like 30-40 minutes to complete at first). It was such a great feeling when I started noticing that I could keep with the DVD and even add a few extra repetitions for good measure!

My best advice would be to follow her rotation and push through the work outs as much as you can. You may not be able to do 100% right away, but that will come with time and perseverance. Also, don't be afraid to take extra rest days if you need them, or to totally repeat a week. The first time I did the rotation it took me 13 weeks to complete it because I got sick and just didn't feel like I could keep up with Cathe. Good luck!
