~~~>STS 6 Month Alumni-Spring Break<~~~
Good Morning!!!
Rachel sounds like a productive day is ahead of you! You got the 'go get 'um tackle it all' attitude! How fun for your niece to spend that time with you! And fun for you too! Nothing like hair day to make a girl feel special! :D The other thing I like to do if I'm in full pamper mode, is I go to Nordstrom or Macy's and have them do my makeup (it's free!) and then I have new hair and new face! :p
You know, as I had gotten off on my original STS schedule, today is the actual day I would have started Meso 3 so I'm not really behind, it's just that I had wanted to get back on my Sunday-Saturday schedule. Being sick however was not how I wanted to spend my recovery week! With that said, I am definitely mucho better today but I slept horrible last night as I was clogged up and couldn't breathe and/or coughing. (Everything is now exiting my body.) So, still no working out today, but maybe go do a machine tonight at the gym. And...I forgot I was thinking about doing S&H instead of M3 (thanks Rachel!) so I might took a good look at those tonight and decide.
Okay, on to the shower. It's going to be a beautiful day here today! Hello Cendrine and Kim!
Ahh, sitting here with my coffee and some quiet time to catch up with my Cathe friends:D Just the way the schedule worked I have Thurs and Friday off from the hospital so a nice long weekend. Kids are at school. This morning I got MMA Fusion done, went to the library and bought a bed frame. The bed frame is very plain but it matches the old dresser and it was on sale:D:D The mattress is coming tomorrow but the bed frame isn't coming for 2 weeks. I've been busy packing some stuff up in the bedroom and DH has the closet doors off trying to fix them, what a mess! Maybe we'll drain the water bed this weekend and just sleep on the mattresses on the floor. Rachael, it's a water bed with baffles in which makes it such a nuiance to drain.
I have a feeling the house will be a continual mess for the next 2 months while we get it ready to sell. Just so many projects on the go. This morning I also dropped two dining rooms chairs off to get refinished, as the puppies chewed on them. Of course the last of the puppies died of old age (17 ) last year, LOL. Wow, selling the house sure has got me motivated to do things that I've meant to do for years.
My MIL called to say that she wanted to stop by this evening to drop off a birthday gift for me. She is really sweet but I do I really have to clean the house up??
Rachael Enjoy your days off! You sound like you're in a great mood! That's an interesting point that doing the HiiT might have helped with the pylo. The pylo didn't seem to bad this week I thought maybe it was because I just finished a recovery week but maybe it was having the Hiit background. Have a great time with your niece! That' s so nice that you have such a special relationship with her!
Jo I'm glad that you're starting to feel better!!. There were some good weighin's for the Blue Team this week!! There are so many nice people on the show this season, that I don't want anyone kicked off! Have you heard about Jillian's new show where she moves in with a family for a week?? I'm sure you looked super cute in your St. Patrick's Day outfit! I work a green blouse, shamrock earrings and a shamrock brooch.
Cendrine Well, your family is sure enjoying the spring! The biking riding and rollerblading sounds like so much fun! I did get kid's bikes out as the roads were clear of snow. Still snow on the grass though! I always worry about ds outside in the spring as it's bad for the asthma. When the snow melts there is often molds on the grass and tons of sand left on the roads. He's been fine though. Our early spring is coming to a bit of end as we're supposed to get snow tonight:(
I was super spoiled for my birthday. Both kids made me handmade gifts!! DD made a shamrock brooch and ds made me a jewellery box in shops class. My sister got me a sweatshirt and my mom bought be a purse, bag, $100 gift certificate for Lululemon and $60 for the Bay (a department store). I still have the $100 Lulullemon gift certificate DH gave me for Valentine's Day so I better go shopping. I really wanted to lose that 10 lbs first though and I'm not there yet:mad: DH bought me a electronic picture frame, chocolates and some sheets for the new bed.
Kim, do not clean the house up for MIL! LOL! You've way too many projects going on! You've inspired me to get some of mine done! I had a waterbed years ago and remember it was a pain to drain! Good luck with all that! No, I didn't hear about Julian's show - I'll have to look it up - do you know when it's supposed to be on? I'm so glad you were pampered on your BD! I still haven't used my lululemon certificate either and part of the reason was not knowing what I want or need!
Okay so I started feeling really good after lunch so went to the gym after work and just walked on the TM for an hour. It was just what I needed! Then I came home and redid my Meso 3 schedule so I'm definitely doing Meso 3 and starting it tomorrow! GF went with me and she did a spinning class and then went to yoga. I will being doing Meso 3 at home and then supplementing cardio at the gym...I'll keep you posted!
Okay, time to settle in for the night - TTYA tomorow!
Good morning !!!
I was going to sleep in again today but my internal alarm clock was waking me up so I thought I would just go ahead and listen to it. Besides it is not that often that I get to get up and just relax for a while before I jump into my workout. So this is a nice change of pace.
After DH and I finished up our job on Wednesday we had a truckload of material to take back and since we needed the truck this weekend we thought we would go ahead and take everything back yesterday. While we were there we went and checked out our next job that starts on Monday. The first phase that has to be done by Easter are 8 Sunday school rooms. They are going to be vinyl and carpet squares and it looks like it will go pretty smooth.
We did not get to go to the new convention center but looked at the plan . It is going to follow the Sunday school rooms. It looks like it will be a great job for us. It will probably take about 5 months. Definitely some great job security!
This means that we are going to have to do our Grand Canyon trip after Summer but I am fine with that because I needed more time to research what all we were going to do and I did not want to be in a rush either. This way we can take our time and go to other things too.
Kim-I laughed when I saw you called your 17 yr old dog a puppy...we still call our dogs "the puppies" when we are talking about them. Even when I think about them , I think of them as puppies. Oh and they are 9. haha
Hang in there on the messy house. I know how you feel. When we start a project, I am fine at first coping with the extra mess and then as it drags on I really start freaking. But just hang in there and you will be rewarded with a new house!:D
Jo-I am so glad you are getting back to your routine. Glad you did not fret too much about it either! I can't wait to see what classes you are subbing in for the cardio on meso 3.
I am very excited about my niece and I having a girl day. She will be turning the big 13 next week and I can hardly believe it. Since it is my brother's rule that no make up until she is 13, my sister is going to take her to do all the fun make up stuff and I am doing the hair stuff. It will be fun spending the day tomorrow finding out her take on turning 13.
Cendrine- You must be busy. What workout is on schedule for today? What are you making for dinner. I am thinking , If I have time I am going to do your Mushroom and wild rice bake this weekend. Or at least get the dry ing. to have on hand for next weekend.
OK I better be off to go pump some iron. I forget how the bi's tri's and shoulder workouts are in meso 3 but I am fixin' to be reminded, I am sure:eek:
Hi Girls,
sorry for being absent yesterday, we had a busy day and came home late so I never made it on the computer yesterday!
Kim, I am so glad you had such a nice birthday, so fun to get handmade presents from the kids! You'll have some nice things to get from luluemon since you have two certificates now, how fun! And although it is probably too late now I second Jo: do not clean up the house! LOL! You have a good excuse, use it!
Rachel, let me know how you like the mushroom bake. I did cardio and weights again today, I am going to try some new workouts next week, trying to be on two week rotations for a while. Considering how tired I was getting up this morning, I got a really good workout in, so that was encouraging.
Jo, I'm glad to hear you are getting better all the time. You know I have always thought about getting my make up done at one of those stores and never have. What do you tell them? Do you have to pretend like you are interested in the product or can you just let them show you make up tricks. How does it work? That would be a super fun thing to do with dd some time!
Oh you girls! I'm having fun fun fun!!! So I went and took the BodyJam class tonight. It is a cardio dance class and it was CRAZY! GF and I were laughing and laughing but it was really fun. There was only about 20 people (probably because of Friday) and we were actually the most coordinated!!?? LOL! So I did sweat but it wasn't like doing HIIT! Plus the instructor was repeating things enough so everyone could try and catch on. The biggest problem I had was you'd turn to the left with left foot down and knee up with right leg. Because of stepping we'd turn to the left, do right foot on step and left knee up (does that make sense) so that took me a few to get the correct knee up! :cool: She was using the opposite leg from what I do naturally!
Rachel, congrats on this big job! Going to Grand Canyon after August will still be great! I mean it can get miserabley hot there! (We lived in Phoenix one year.) We had always planned to either go in June or September when we go. So how'd you do with those Bi's and Tri's today? Did you make them pop out? I did get chest and back done this morning so I'm right behind you! I have been meaning to ask you (cause I forgot :eek:) didn't Julie send you P90X? Did you ever do that? What happened with that. Strange I know, but the other night when I woke up hacking in the middle of the night, I woke up thinking about you and P90X! So I figured I should ask! (I know strange huh?)
Cendrine, sounds like you're getting better all the time too! Is your back handling the workout okay? So regarding the makeup counter, a couple things. Usually I'll just go up and say something like "I feel like I'm in a rut and looking for a new look? Would you have time to do my makeup?" (I make sure they don't look like a punk rocker or something! :eek:) Or I say, I recently started wearing a lot of earth tones but don't know what colors to wear, could you help me with that? Or even, I don't know how to properly apply eye pencil etc., could you give me a lesson? Remember these are people that love makeup and they love to make people up! Also if they are having a makeup event where they have artists coming in, that is a great time to go and then you have an appointment and then you get someone who does nothing but help people with applying makeup. Lastly, I've actually called and made appointments to have my makeup done. For example, DH and I had to go to black tie dinner, so I called told them my event, asked for an appointment, brought my dress and someone did my makeup for the event. IT'S FREE!!! That would have cost me $50 in a salon (and yes I could have done it myself but they are dialed in to events like that). Sometimes I might buy stuff cause I'm truly looking for new colors (because of new clothes) or I truly am looking for a new way to use colors and I don't buy a thing cause I already have all that stuff just didn't know how to put it together. Anyway, bottomline, it's fun, and they don't care if you don't buy anything, they love to do it! Remember, they will have a better chance of making a sale if they can help you connect with something...don't be bashful...it'll make you feel good and it's fun! Takes maybe 30 minutes.
Kim, how you doing? We're expecting more great weather here this weekend so I'm sending some your way! Okay, off to put my jammies on!
One last thing about the makeup - this is how I've discovered some good colors for me that I would never have selected or thought would work on me. If I ever get down to SoCal again, we should go do that!
Good morning yall
Probably going to be a quickie for me today...IT"S HAIR DAY ! So I have to go kick start my workout!
DH and I worked our butts off on the mudroom yesterday and got all the cedar siding up and now we have to go back and trim everything out. It is starting to all come together on the outside now so all we have to worry about is starting to decide how we will finish out the inside.
I had such a good workout yesterday. I was rocking on the bi's for sure. And YES Jo they were popping. I know this meso gets repetitive for some but I really appreciate the results the last bit gives!
Jo-How funny that you remember about the p90...You have a memory like a steel trap! I actually was not ever too interested in the p90 because I am not a fan of Tony Horton. DH was more interested and he did it a little but then work got busy and he stopped. When he does workout he does it after work and when you have unloaded a truck that day or just worked your butt off, it s hard to come home and workout. That is why I always do mine in the morning. I give him a break on it!;):D
You had great tips on the makeup!
Cendrine-I am hoping that the little grocery store in town has everything I need because I am not going to have time to go anywhere else for the ings. So tomorrow morning I am going to try and make up my grocery list and get what I need. The weather is supposed to miserable tomorrow so I am going to use it to get some extra cooking done so I will have plenty of food put in the freezer before we get started on this next job.
I am like you on the make up thing. It sounds like so much fun but I am always nervous that they will want me to purchase everything they use on me. Thank goodness for Jo and all the girlie things she knows!:D I think another thing you could say with your dd is that you want them to give her tips on how to apply makeup properly since she will need to learn!
Kim-Hyyyooo from down here. Hope all is well!
I am off Athletic step this morning!
Sorry I didn't get to check in yesterday. I had a chance to read the posts but got interrupted before I had a chance to post.
So I decided to drain the water bed by myself yesterday, it took me 3 hours and I was exhausted afterwards. DS was home sick so a few times I had him lay on the bed for some weight. I drained the water into buckets and then carried the buckets into the bathroom to dump in the tub. The afternoon was errands like groceries, then home in time for the mattress to be delivered. I was so physically tired that I almost skipped bi/tri's/shoulder's, but I didn't and even upped the weights a bit!
Kids got report cards yesterday and did great! DS got an 91% average:D, dd did great too but they do different type of marking in grade school.
Today will be Athletic Step and no equipment abs, I took a rest day on my birthday so will move right into week 2 tomorrow.
Jo I'm so glad that you are feeling better! The class sounds like so much fun! There are definitely some advantages to working out at a gym.
Rachael They are always our puppies aren't they;) I sure miss having dogs. It will be nice for you to have a large steady job for a few months! Enjoy your hair day!!
Cendrine Are you enjoying no Sunday School planning today!
Good Morning All! Today the HIIT Pyramids await me!
Kim, what a chore on that bed! I'm can imagine how happy you are to have that done! And...still get your workout in! Hope DS is feeling better and wonderful on his grades!
Rachel, hope you have a fun day! Nothing like hair day! And I'm sure niece is really looking forward to the time with you!
Cendrine, hope you have a wonderful day today too!
You guys talking about your puppies is making me miss mine. We had a wonderful 120 lb german shepherd; he's been gone now about 9 years. But besides the fact he was a great friend, what I miss most, was even when he was an old puppie I would hug him and on the top of his head he always still smelled like a new puppy! (I know corny huh?)
It's going to be 70 here today! So better go get my workout done so I can get outside! You all have a GREAT DAY!!!!
