STS 2.0 Lower Body 1

Wooooooaaaaah. Did this for the first time today. I think this is my first time experiencing those quad lifts with the stability ball on the shin/toe at the very end. My quads were having an existential crisis, lol!

Loved the workout. I'm just really frustrated that my grip strength is really hindering me from going as heavy as I'd like with some of the exercises. Like for the deadlifts I couldn't even get out 10 reps in each set - had to stop at 8 each time, even after lowering my weight because my grip was just giving out. This is my first week in phase 2, so hopefully by week 3 maybe I won't be having to give in so fast. My lower body is definitely toasted right now, though (AND my forearms!).

I just did this workout today. I also really enjoyed it. Years ago while doing STS I purchased gloves with hooks, they came in handy today. I’m still having a problem getting into the position for the hip thrusts, it does lighten the mood when laughing at yourself.

It is not my first attempt on this workout but yes I love it!

I got a bit apprehensive before executing the quad lift but I am glad I did both versions.
Yes I am cooked!

I love how deceptive it is - like "Oh jeez... a stability ball? That won't be challenging at all."

Bzzzzt! WRONG! My quads don't freak out so bad with this exercise anymore, but they're still tough.

Oh - and re-reading what I wrote about grip strength - I eventually solved that issue with those DMoose Hooks we were all talking about when this series first came out. They're so helpful in allowing me to use heavy weights for lower body instead of having to drop weight selection or stop reps early.

Thank you for the link. I need to get a pair of hooks.

I was amazed to discover how heavy i can deadlift. I loaded way too much compared to the 75 pounds loaded for deadlift. I am so happy and grateful my back never let me down.

Yes those stability ball do cook the hamstring really good. I am a sucker for those lol :D :D
Those hamstring rolls burn but I always look forward to doing them.

What a line up! Hip thrust and hamstring rolls. My hamstrings and glute will scream tomorrow.
If i do not gain a bubble derrière from this then I will turn into a pancake for the rest of my life lol:D:D
