We had to pay this year, so our accountant didn't put our direct deposit info on our tax return.
Based on the IRS' schedule, we won't be getting our paper check until July! x(

they won't mail ours until the end of june so i am hoping the very beginning of july we will have it. this really bites the big one b/c i get laid off in mid-june and could use that to catch up on bills.
i got a letter saying we would recieve one but no idea how much we will get. dh and i filed jointly and made under 35,000 and have one child. do you think we will get $1500
reese i hope you hear something soon. is there somebody to call and find out? maybe a cleric error has you getting a paper check instead of a direct deposit?

Just got mine today. All it means for me is I can cut back on my overtime for a few days.

The IRS website has a feature called "where's my rebate?", where you enter your SS#, how you filed, and the number of exemptions on your return and it tells you the status. They are direct depositing (and sending out the paper checks) on the basis of the last 2 digits of your SS#. Hope that helps.
I would contact the IRS, if I didn't get the money on schedule, that way, they can track what happened to it.

I just went to turbo tax's website. Did you have you payment for taxes taken out of your refund? If so, then you will get a paper check instead of direct deposit even if you refund was direct deposited. This is why I have not received mine, I believe.

yep they just mentioned that on the local news this morning. apparently you were not the only one wondering why the checks haven't gone in the bank.

Do you mean a payment for taxes owed? Or payment for the actually processing through Turbo Tax? I didn't pay any taxes from my refund, only Turbo Tax processing fees, and several people I know did the same and they got their money already.
I'm confused, but I've heard that the schedule they have isn't really etched in stone...

Okay - you were totally right. I finally got thru to the IRS and if you used Turbo Tax and paid for the processing fees from your refund, you get a paper check and not direct deposit.
DARN IT! But I did find out that our check should be coming out around 6/6/08...so at least I know now and can stop checking my bank account and being disappointed...LOL
