Standing up to a wedding at 8 months?

Dear Ladies,
Please help me with this one. I just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. 23. Recently, I agreed to stand up at a friend's wedding on October 15. I will be about 8 months. Do women do this? I think I would feel so out of season doing this. Also, I'm no spring chicken anymore. What do you think? Have any of you ever seen an excessively pregnant woman in a wedding party? Should I call it off? We were planning to do a Renaissance motif which would mean spending a small fortune on the dress.

Hello Manmohini,

Sure women do it all the time. Age too is not a factor like it
seemed to be years ago. I know you are imagining yourself
uncomfortable or big but the fact is you will have eyes on you
because pregnant women in my opinion look beautiful especially
if you exercise. I guess the important question is how good
of a friend is the bride to be? If you are close and adore her
then you should be there for her in my opinion. It's only one
day and lets face it will fly by.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!

I was 38 weeks pregnant when I was a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding and it was fine!! But it was my sister. I was supposed to be in a wedding 4 weeks after my first son was born but the bride cut me out because I couldn't get fitted for a dress. I was much happier not to have been in that wedding. I guess it all depends on how good of a friend it is, don't let your pregnancy stand in the way.
