Spring into Summer - Monday 6/7

Well I 've been waiting to see if anyone would start, not. So I'm starting :)

I hope you all have had a great weekend. The Hubby and I were out digging up trees that will be getting bulldozed here and puting them on our property.
I live in a very high growing area...they are knocking out all these wonderful wooded areas here for new homes. I wish my builder had left at least one tree on my property when they cleared when they started building on this side. We got some Mimosa trees and some other types. I saw some baby dogwood trees across from my house that I may save too.

I'm going to try to follow a rotation this month and will start with the advanced rotation Cathe finally posted for this month. Since I don't have any of the new dvds I subbed BC today for the HSTA.
I had not done BC in it's entirety since Feb so I had a good workout. Since my workouts had been sporadic this past May I need to work up my endurance as I felt slightly winded during some of the cardio portions. My strength is still good, I was able to lift with no problem and used my old cushy Firm barbell loaded for lower body and had my Troy barbell loaded for upper. It helped as I didn't have to keep changing the plates at all .

Well I plan on IMAX 2 for tommorrow and will do BC again on Wed morning before I see the doctor to schedule my surgery. I'll be asking very specific questions as far as working out as I really don't want to lose what I've got.

Hugs to all;

HI all! I had my reunion this past weekend. It went well, but dh couldn't go with me because our son got the flu the day before. But other than that it was fun. I got a pretty nice comment, one of the guys walked up to me and said that I haven't changed a bit. At first I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, but he told me that it was by explaining wouln't you rather look 18 versus 28? And I laughed and said, Yeah, I suppose. Anyway, I was a very stargne experience to see all of those people again. There were some that I would never have recognized, and others that looked the exact same. It seemed that the people that I didn't like in High school I still don't like outside of high school though. But that's fine because I probably won't see them again until the next class reunion if I go.

Anway, I did SJP the Step and weight circuit premix. I have a cold so that was plenty for me today.
Shywolf, I have never done BC, but I've heard about it and it sounds really tough. Plus I've chacked out Cathes rotation and it made me tired just to read what all she has you doing. Of course once again, I have a cold so that may have something to do with it, but either way you're a tough cookie to tackle that rotation, good for you!

You all have a great week!

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, I did quite a varied workout: warmup and cardio kickboxing from Janis Saffell's Kickbox Strikezone, Gaiam's Abs Pilates, the ab work from Kathy Smith LWTLW2, the butt bonus on Killer Abs and Back, and the stretches from the Kathy Smith DVD. It was great. Today, I did just the upper body work from Cathe's new High Step Training. Boy, my upper body was fried, but I was able to do the one armed one legged tricep dips! It was great, but tough, with no rest between body parts. I haven't done the whole workout yet, but it's going to be tough. I LIKE it!

Shywolf, I haven't done BC since February either. I was so proud of being able to do it all the way through without any extra rest. I'm anxious to try it again. I hope your appointment with the doctor goes as well as can be expected.

Kathy, I hope you get over your cold soon. I've never been to any of my reunions; in 2006 I'll be at my 25th (I can't believe that! I can't believe that this month it will be 23 years!). I'd like to go to one though, someday!

I hope everyone's having a good day!

Hi everyone,

The countdown to Maui has begun. It's less than 48 hours away! I've still got quite a few things to do at work and last minute laundry, cleaning, etc. Getting excited and am stressed about getting everything done beforehand.

Still working out though. Here's what I've been up to.
Saturday- Cardio and Weights.
Sunday- Karen Voight Yoga Focus
Monday- Christi's Still Jumpin'

Vilma- Good luck at the doctor's on Wednesday. I'll be sending you positive vibes from the air.

Kathy- Get better soon. An early summer cold is no fun.

Lisa- What an eclectic workout! Sounds like it was fun though.

Big hugs to everyone! Gotta get running again!

Good afternoon ladies,

I wasn't able to do KPC yesterday as planned. Full day yesterday. We had a lease signing at one of our properties at noon and a birthday party for my son's classmate early in the afternoon. I was so tired when we got home that I took a nap, and the day went downhill from there.

So today I did CTX-Power Circuits warm-up then straight to the circuits, then C&W minus the warm-up. After the C&W abs I added in KPC abs then did the stretches in KPC and C&W. An hour and a half's work, just to get everything in and wake the muscle. If I'm not sore tomorrow, I'll start with heavy lifting for chest and back.

Sabine, that countdown is getting exciting. Enjoy your break!
Lisa, it's great to know you're working out again.
Kathy, take care of that cold. And you know, I've never done BC either!:p
Vilma, I wish you well on your trip to the doctor.

Have a great day everyone,
Pinky

Sabine,

In case you don't check in tomorrow, have a great, safe, trip! It was fun doing that workout yesterday. DVDs are great for mixing and matching. I used to read reviews on Videofitness, when VHS was more the norm, and people would talk about doing a workout with bits and pieces from different tapes. I couldn't imagine doing that then, but with DVDs it's a snap.

Hi...Sabine, Vilma, Kathy, Lisa, Pinky, Brenda and the rest of the faithful crew :) I have a question reguarding Yoga Focus. How does it compare to Karen's Yoga Sculpt? I like Yoga Sculpt but am bored with it.

This is week 4 of May rotation for me.
Day 1-I Leg/Gluts timesaver#5 instead of PS L&A (yesterday)
Day 2-(Today) intense treadmill walking workout with hill intervals that were tough. (the grade varried from 5-11 and after the warm-up I kept the pace at 4.6-4.7mph. 50", then a cool down and good stretch and planks.
Day 3- supposed to be walk 30" and 30" stretch. I may do HIIT 30" and then stretch. I'm thinking IMAX2 (6-10 intervals)
Day 4- I will do all of Upper body instead of spacing it over two days.
Day 5- Any Step and abs
Day 6- away for a few days walk or stretch only

Next week Who knows? I think I'll NOT do a rotation for a while and just try to get in 5 workouts per week. Tennis starts up again next week and I am golfing now too. Rotations may not work well for the summer with two other sports to work around.

Hi all! I did S&H: Chest/Back and Legs/Shoulders; I felt so good after that I did Circit Max too. I think I will go home now and sleep for 12 hours.

I am counting down (5 days) the days until I go back to Victoria for 3 months of vacationing at our other house.

Hi everyone. Yesterday DH, my bro-in-law and myself completed a metric century bike ride! 60 miles! I was REALLY nervous but it went great. I definately need to work on my hill climbs before the big ride in July...my bro-in-law has lost around 20 pounds and just spanked me on the hills, and DH was even slower than me. However, both DH and I did great on the flats/mildly hilly roads. DH used to leave me in the dust on the flats, but Spinervals brought huge improvements. There's no substitue for real hills so DH and I will be hitting those twice a week for the next 5 weeks. x( ouch

Just got my new DVD so that's probably what I'll do tonight. Tomorrow is off due to family stuff, and Wed. will be biking! I want to get to the place where the hills hurt, but I can do it anyway. I didn't "feel" that yesterday...I wanted to stop on every single one. We'll see how the next 5 weeks go!

Love the signature, Vilma! I need to go check out Cathe's rotation.

Have fun in Hawaii, Sabine! Enjoy your vacation rotation!

Hellos to everyone else!

CinDee

Kathy, glad you had a good time at your reunion. Those can be so nerve-wracking!
