Soreness

I never post always a lurker, but I do have one questions about soreness. I have been doing the Donna rotation now for 4weeks. During the begininig I was extremly sore after doing the rotation, but after about 2weeks in the rotation I no longer get sore. I know the workout is diffcult because while I am working out I am sweating and grasping for air. My question is how do you know when it is time to increase your weights or try something else to shock you body? I am currently using 10-30lbs for the workout. I have not seen any major results either however my friend says I have some defintion in my shoulders. I have only lost 3lbs, which doesnt bother me because I know that for some people it takes 6-8 weeks before they see any major results. When I first started the rotation I couldnt do 20minuites of cardio, now I am up to 30minutes with a goal of 60 min . I know this sounds odd but I dont feel like I am reaching my goal if I dont feel any soreness. Thanks if any response. Vonnie

vonnie- your body does get accustomed to the stress you put on it and therefore you won't get as sore. Also if your eating well you also will not get as sore.If you feel you are putting in everything you have to give as far as lifting as heavy as possible with good form then don't sweat not being sore. You may want to try a new rotation if you feel the results are not what you want. But don't short change yourself make sure you are giving your all.up your weights if possible with good form even if it is only a few reps and pick up lighter wts. That is how I up my wt.I bought 2- 30 lbs db 3 weeks ago and when I started I could not bicep curl but 2 and now I can do 12 in a row and the other 2 are bet.10 and 5 it all depends how hard I push but when I can do more on the 2 and 3rd (more than 5) I will up it again.Sometimes I will lift as many as possible than rest a couple of reps and continue I just keep doing that until the exercise is done even if I have to miss several reps I feel pushed harder than doing a wt that is easier even if I can I can complete all the reps. But try to get past your comfort zone and listen to your body.I never get sore but I know I work hard so don't worry that your not doing your body any good just because your not so sore that you can't sit on the toilet the next day:7

I hate that "not being able to sit on the toilet" sore.

I agree with the above. As long as you feel challenged during the workout, you are getting a good workout. I am not getting as sore after ME, but I definitely still feel challenged by the weights. When the soreness starts to lessen, it just means your body is getting used to the workout. Of course, if you are breezing throught the workout, increase your weights. Even then you still may not be as sore the next day as you would be initially. I personally see this as a good thing because then I don't have to take extra days off and I can keep my rotation going.
