Soreness

I am a faithful Cathe exerciser. I am currently doing this rotation:
Mon - MIC hi/low Power Hour Upper Body
Tues - MIC step Power Hour Legs/buttocks/lunges
Wed - Rhythmic Step
Thurs - Power Hour complete
Fri - Step Works
Sat - MIS complete

I am on week 6 of 8. When I first started doing this I was sore, but I don't get sore anymore even though I increased my weights in most areas and go til I can't possible go anymore. I always feel like I am sure I will be sore and then I am not. I guess my question is do I need to do something different or is it ok not to be sore? Also, I always stretch at the end with Cathe. Could this be the reason I don't get sore, because I stretch it out?

Just curious. There are many educated girls on this forum and I could use some advice.

Thanks in advance for your time.

You don't get sore anymore because your muscles are conditioned to exercise. If you follow a routine like you have for 6-8 weeks then you would have built enough strength for your body to cope with the weights. It does not mean that you will not get results from this program.

Changing your routine at this point is good and when your muscles work differently, you will get that soreness back. Try switching to PS series now and you will be pleasantly surprised. I did that 2 weeks ago and my muscles were...... oh my. It's like I have only just started lifting weights. (I am currently building strength with PS and alternating with PH and MIS and Body Max 3 times a week so I can get 2 total body weights workout in one week. E.g.

Mon: MIS
Tues: Step aerobic (any step tape)
Wedns: PS Upper Body
Thurs: PS Lower Body (Legs) or step aerobic
Fri: PS Lower Body or step aerobic
Sat: rest or step
Sun: rest or step

I would changed the cardio too and learn a new routine.

Thank you for responding. I have 2 more weeks to go on this rotation. Do you think I should change now, or do it in 2 weeks. (I would love to change. I get tired of doing the same ones over and over though I would feel like a failure if I didn't complete it)

I have the pure strength series and the the Slow & Heavy series waiting for me to try. They are both brand new. Yesterday I did Power Hour in the morning and then I decided to watch Circuit Max that is brand new and I couldn't stand it, I had to do it. So in the afternoon I did Circuit Max. I LOVE IT. It is a much better cardio workout than a regular step tape. I lowered my step and used real light weights since I had already done power hour that day. Do you or anyone use Circuit Max as a cardio or strength in a rotation?

Thanks,
Christi

PS. When should I start seeing some kind of definition. I have been doing the rotation I told you about above for 6 weeks. My arms are skinny, though I am definitly stronger than before. My mid section is still flabby. I wonder if I should add more cardio or more abs. After 2 kids (excuse) my mid section won't go away no matter how hard I try. I am not overweight by most standards, but I feel more flabby than I should be for working out as hard as I do.

Sorry I just kept on babbling.

Hi Christi-
Give it 3 months before you expect to see definition. There will come a time when one day is wasn't there, the next day you wke up defined. At least that's what it seemed like for me. Hang in till then...
