Or a black out? I'm not sure of the difference...........oddly enough it was caused by a fire, which damaged a power grid & left the entire county without power, NOT by the weather & everyone running their a/c at full blast.

Couldn't have happened at a worse time! After all our OEM mtgs I got home at about 6:00, pulled all the blinds & sat around as scantily clad as possible. The house didn't get any warmer than about 85 but it was so stuffy & warm, plus my poor little pug does not handle heat well.

We finally got power back at around 9:00, but the 2nd floor didn't cool off until about 3 am. Pretty serious stuff!

Put some water on your little pug every so often. It helps. This is strange weather we all are having. It's kind of odd to me. Not scary, but just wondering how far will it go?

It's VERY scary when you don't have a/c! Or power to your fridge! Yeah, Max got some extra water yesterday. And ice since I was trying to empty the bin before it all melted.

I lost 3 gallons of frozen yogurt & 2 unopened packages of whole grain waffles. I guess I should consider myself lucky.

I'm not sure where you live, but if you don't live in Indiana, be glad that you don't. We've had two weeks of the nastiest storms in over 100 years. Tornadoes destroyed and damaged hundreds of homes two weekends ago. We had no power for 38 1/2 hours at my house (Friday night to Sunday afternoon). We had more storms later that week, but went relatively unscathed until this past weekend. It started raining on Friday night and didn't stop until Saturday around midday. People south of Indianapolis got about 12 inches of rain. I used to live down there (now live on the north side of Indy) and found out the house I used to live in was underwater. Roads are still closed today, because, you guessed it, we got deluged with another 2+ inches of rain last night. Just as with the storms, this is the worst flooding in over 100 years, and no one has flood insurance because the land was not considered a "flood zone". People have 7 feet of water in their basement, and one guy reported 3 feet of water in his main level...and they have no flood insurance to pay for repairs. House insurance will not cover it. 23 counties so far have been declared disaster areas. Basically, everyone who lives in Indiana has either been effected by these storms or knows someone who has. And when I say effected, I mean BIG TIME effected.

I've lived in Indiana most of my life, and I've never seen this much devastation. Homes damaged or destroyed, hundreds of trees blown over, hundreds of thousands of limbs (big ones) ripped off of trees, tens of thousands of people without power for several days, whole cities turned into lakes.

I love a good storm, but ta-damn! Enough already!
